I just scored at BB&B. They agreed to price match it but they did the PM wrong. They took 40% off of their own in-store price ($300 vs. $350 @ Macy's), so I got it for $180 + tax = $194 OTD!
The same thing happened to me, except they also applied the 20% off coupon I had with me. $300 - 40% = $180 - 20% = $144 + tax.

You scored big time. The CSR made it clear that the 20% coupon wasn't going to work, but I wasn't planning on using it anyway. Good job.

I tried both the SUPER code and a 15% off code they e-mailed to me and neither work. I saw on another thread someone said they called to get Macys to do it. I don't understand why it doesn't just work on the site.

Out of curiosity, why is everyone so into making shakes with wheatgrass/growing their own?

I've heard you don't want to put wheatgrass in a Vitamix. Doesn't work well.

We have the Omega 8004. I think it's actually the same thing as this 8006 but a different color. We like it a lot, but I also hate throwing out all the pulp. I've thought about selling mine and getting a Blendtec or Vitamix. It depends what you want. Both a blender and a juicer have their pros and cons.

Blender = blends everything (including pulp), fast and easy setup and cleanup. Probably a little more versatile in that you can blend a lot of fruits and make smoothies. Juicing fruits isn't advised because you're removing the fiber, thus allowing your body to absorb all of the sugars in the fruits much easier. This would create a spike in your blood sugar.

Masticating Juicer (like the 8004 or 8006) = remove pulp from juice so you're only consuming the juice. Because of this, you want to use organic produce to avoid consuming all of the pesticides and other crap that comes along with conventional fruits and veggies.

When we use our juicer, we'll juice veggies 95% of the time (kale, spinach, ginger, collard greens, chard, wheatgrass, and occasionally beets and carrots) and once in a while throw in some fruit, either an apple or pear.
I agree, plus here are my findings:

Veggies are good when juiced, but they don't contain as much fiber as fruits....they contain more nutrients and ur body needs to absorb as much as it can...Fruits are good when blended because you want the fiber.....

with a blender, you have to drink the smoothie (or whtever u make) immediately, because the drink starts to loose the enzymes and nutrients because of the fiber...the drink also starts to oxidize faster when blended.

with a "masticating" juicer, u can save it for a few hours in a refrigerator... a masticating juicer also preserves all the enzymes and nutrients because of the slow (80 rpm) crunching......masticating juicer introduces less bubbles/foam which means less oxidation...

Fiber is definitely good for your digestive tract...but some times it also makes it difficult for ur body to absorb all the nutrients and minerals because it has to break down the fiber...and as your body tries to get rid of all the fiber as soon as it can, ur body might not be able to absorb all the nutrients and minerals effectively and efficiently. This is where the masticating juicer has the benefit....all the nutrients are just out there for ur body to absorb quickly.....

Ofcourse, that also means that your body absorbs the sugar quickly....but if you make sure u don't juice high sugar fruits (like apple), u can mix veggies and fruits together so that u can have all those nutrients and it also tastes good.....

as far as cost is concerned, Vitamix and Blendtec makes the best blenders and they run from $500-$1200.....vs one of the best masticating juicers Omega 8006/8004 that runs between $190-$215 in such a deal.....that's a big difference...u can maybe use some other food source for ur fiber intake Smilie

(btw, i bought Omega 8006 last week from Macy's for $189 with tax).....

Awesome juicer. Got it in the Black Friday sale and use it regularly. Built like a tank, compact, easy to clean and comes with 15-year warrantee.
