Do they still have that language in the contracts? Any change in terms that has an adverse effect equates to no ETF?
I will definitly try to get them to show my contract as being fulfilled before the Galaxy S4 comes out. And I just got an S3 beginning of this year. The only problem is past times I've tried this with the same tactic they always seem to push that I either have to completely cancel the line or agree to the new terms as if there's no way to change the account terms to show that I'm no longer under contract and am eligible for a phone upgrade (which is the same thing as leaving ETF free and signing up again).
Trying to get out of Sprint phone connect that I've not used for about 5mos. So far any attempts I've made have been denied. They still want $120 ETF.
If your monthly bill amount x 5 is greater than $120, you should be kicking yourself.
Switch your prl to verizon and force it to stay on verizon towers. Stream a nice HD video on youtube for a month. I am sure the following month sprint will kick you out and waive your ETF since you are no longer profitable.
I devious, machiavellian even, solution. I applaud you good sir.

As usual full of helpfulness and unnecessary critique. Exactly why I limit any talk here and rather just lurk. Always a set of clowns here like slickster who can't keep their mouths shut. I'm not an idiot I'm fully aware of how to do simple mathematics.
that's like asking if condoms can be used again
Year of Hot Pockets (Nestle Hot Pockets' Year of Freedom Sweepstakes)
I switched to Verizon 4 months ago and love it. Screw Sprint. My advice is: get out of your contracts however you have to (pay the ETF, roam on VZW, beg and plead)... but do it and bail. Sprint is terrible to their customers and their service is crap. I pay $24 more per month for 3 lines and I had the best discounts ever on a modern Sprint plan. Most people would break even by switching to Verizon if you have a 3+ person family line and use 4GB of shared data and have a 15-20% employee discount.
"Tax & Surcharge Base Changes
Effective 4/1/13, Sprint will be changing tax systems for charges such as insurance & premium content. This update may cause an increase of taxes and/or surcharges on your bill for these products. For details of taxes & surcharges, visit sprint.com/taxesandfees ."
I called and the rep I spoke to said her or her supervisor were unaware of whats changing...but I know I want out of my contract (as do some of you people)...so...might be a way out of Sprint ETF free.
There ya go.
Can you please upload the back of your statement so that we can all see this notice?
Our Right To Change The Agreement & Your Related Rights
We may change any part of the Agreement at any time, including, but not limited to, rates, charges, how we calculate charges, discounts, coverage, technologies used to provide services, or your terms of Service. We will provide you notice of material changes—and we may provide you notice of non-material changes—in a manner consistent with this Agreement (see "Providing Notice To Each Other Under The Agreement" section). If a change we make to the Agreement is material and has a material adverse effect on Services under your Term Commitment, you may terminate each line of Service materially affected without incurring an Early Termination Fee only if you: (a) call us within 30 days after the effective date of the change; and (b) specifically advise us that you wish to cancel Services because of a material change to the Agreement that we have made. If you do not cancel Service within 30 days of the change, an Early Termination Fee will apply if you terminate Services before the end of any applicable Term Commitment.
Sprint reps are Idiots, trained to disagree and argue you into submission.

good luck convincing any rational person that the $0.49/month increase is materially adverse. however, it can be done. I dropped 5 lines about 2 years ago on one plan we had using this after 5-6 e-mails back and for with account execs.
