I've been looking for a nice i5 or i7 laptop with a backlit keyboard. Just stumbled upon this refurb at best buy. Non refurb sells for $729 so I think $449 is quite a deal. At 4.2lbs it's pretty light as well. Overall looks great for an i7. Can't wait to get mine.

not bad for i7 + 14" for under $500.

8 GB RAM is a plus, most users wont need to waste money upgrading that. If you want to use this for something more than an email/web surf machine I suggest investing in an SSD. Gaming wont be too good on here, maybe GTA 4 on low/med is the best youll get with this.

The Number crunching CPU on here + SSD upgrade should keep most photo/video editing hobbyists satisfied til they get a bigger budget.

Great price. Reviews are mostly favorable. Many folks mentioned crappy speakers which has become a deal breaker for me. Hard to watch movies or videos if you always have to plug in headphones or speakers. If that's a non issue, I'd grab one!

Not bad. Would you rather have this or the one I bought from Groupon a couple weeks ago (Asus Win 7 128 SSD i5 full HD res 13" 4 gb [non upgradeable])? This one seems like a pretty good deal although res not the best. Plus this has an optics drive.

Went ahead and got one. Hope this is a good deal. I'm not very good with computers, but is it possible to add a SSD to this?

Refurbished, trackpad and speaker issues, random reboots, 90 day warranty. Enough reasons to save money and buy something decent.

Not bad, but not that good either. i7s for $500s happen often. the 14 inch and backlit keyboard are very nice options, but this laptop should be cheaper imo
