This post and another previous post are starting to make me think there are several versions of this TV. I had complained of pretty serious lag in an ealier post, and still believe it to be a very serious issue, but another poster claims that there was a game mode. The set I had barely had any settings, and game mode was not available. Also, the X Gen panel discussion seems to be in the air as well. All I know is that several people even in this thread have mentioned lag.. Could it be bad sets, sure. Just wanted to let others know my opinion, but the jury really seems out on this one. Another poster even mentioned some of these are rebranded westinghouse TVs, and the link he provided looks exactly like the set I had, and have since sold.
I just bought this tv a couple days ago looking for a no frills basic big TV to replace a 5 year old 52" LG. The picture is fine, and its perfectly capable for regular tv (although I have t tried football yet but NCAA action looks fine). However, playing Call of Duty online there is a significant lag. This is with the Xbox DIRECTLY connected to the TV via HDMI, not thru a tuner or anything. Also, there is no "game" mode that I've found and I've searched the menus far and wide. I'm going to try to hook it up to component and see if that's any better. Also, on this TV, there is a "120 Hz" option in the menu and you can set it to one of four options, "off, low medium or high"? None of the 4 settings made the lag any better; anybody have any clue what that's actually doing?
