Link to Family Plans [t-mobile.com]

OK, this is kinda related to this thread about a new T-Mobile plan, but I want to highlight the Family Plans.

So as an individual you get unlimited min/txt + 500mb of data plus hotspot for $50

but as a Family you get a better deal.

2 Lines for $40 each ($80)
3 Lines for $30 each ($90)
4 Lines for $25 each ($100)
5 Lines for $22 each ($110)

and each person gets the same plan as the the individual paying $50

Plus no contracts required, so if you pool with friends and your friend is a dead beat, no worries about him costing you $200 for an ETF.

Also in my case, I was previously on the Family Value plan was paying $5 for 200mb but now it's included and upgraded to 500mb with free hotspot. So I'm saving $5/line

*you can switch over as long as you are at least 18 months into your existing plan. You will still have to finish out your current plan even though this says "no contract" but if you are out of contract this will not extend your contract.

**corrected my earlier statement, 2GB is available for $10/month, if you want to pick and choice which line gets more data, add the 500MB first then edit each line individually

Is it $20/mo per line? Or $20 for your whole family plan?
It was going to be per line. I went in on another phone on the plan and it was giving me the same $20 monthly discount

Have you actually try to get this "Value" plan at Costco or you are just guessing? I remember people able to get the old unsubsidized "Value" plan before even though you can't get it through the other third party stores. Just not sure about this new "Value" plan now. I remember one person did say they saw a sign in Costco about this new value(?) plan but no one actually said they get it from costco (nor anyone said they were unable to get it after they ask the CSR at Costco).

Went last week hoping they would still sell for Value plan pricing....they only have classic plan pricing now. I kinda doubt that will change and they will continue to only sell on Classic plans from now on.

T-Mo can't pay Costco when they sell a non contract plan since it might not reward them at all. If someone walks away then T-Mo will lose money.

You used to be able to get the old value plan because it was a contract plan and they would be sure to gain the money back to Costco.

I'd love to see Costco embrace this and just sell the phone at slight markup. But I don't see it happen since they make more money selling ppl on contracts.
I was in Costco on Monday and they were offering the S3 as an upgrade to the Classic plan for $99.00. I assume that I would be on a 2-year plan, which was strange to me since I assumed T-Mobile was doing away with contract extensions. The guy at the kiosk said that they do expect T-Mobile to change their phone pricing soon so you should get the phone soon.

Seems like they will be keeping the classic plans around for their 3rd party sellers. At least for the time being. The CEO idr ever rly mentioned this in his presentation. But it seems like they will just keep the classic plans right where they are and continue business as usual there and keep the contract-less option for their home stores.

should be interesting to see what happens on our plan.

i just bought 2 BB Z10's from staplesmobile for $199 each. TMO is also going to change our plan after we get said phones to 5 lines with 2gb data on 4 of them, for about $150 before military discount. and i can switch between BB and android phones at will.

I really would not have a problem with this since I would prefer to have a discounted phone and stay on a contract instead of having to pay full price.

I don't understand that logic in the slightest.....Unless you are on a very old grandfathered plan which may or may not be able to be saved if you upgrade. It's most likely cheaper to go on the new plans.

5 lines in the family plan = $100 discount? That's not bad.

How do I "edit" which phones gets x amount of data? Figured I'm going to call t-mobile tomorrow and switch my family plan to the simple choice as I am 18+ months into my contract and did not purchase any phone since the last contract (no migration fees).

4 Lines+Unlimited Text+500mb per phone (hopefully there is a way to move the amount of data between phones) would be a good bargain. +10% discount.

I am currently paying 103.xx after taxes on a family plan of 4 right now with unlimited text + 2gb of data on 2 phones. (No discount)

I have looked all over and no concrete answer on where I can pre order the iPhone 5. I know it's tomorrow but where at? Local T-Mobile store, online at T-Mobiles website, apple store, or apple.com? Can I buy it outright or do I have to sign up for a new plan? Anyone know the answer?

Don't get me throttled, bro Frown

Seriously though, that's a very good question. The most I've seen officially is this [t-mobile.com] page..and that's just signing you up for information about pre-ordering laugh out loud

As for your second question, you should be able to buy outright, because, remember, you can choose to pay off a phone at anytime. I kinda remember (i.e. don't quote me on this) the T-Mobile CEO saying you could buy the phone at retail cost.

I guess it's a wait and see. Not sure why they don't give more detailed information. It would be nice if I could pre order at midnight and pay and be done with it and then just wait for it to arrive.

when you select the family plan of 4. select just 500mb data. when you go to options you can switch each line to the data you want.

I am on an old plan. I did a price comparison online-and had the rep do the same when I called-and the new plans did not save me any $. Trust me, if they did I would jump on them right away.

I switched over from sprint with a Tmobile Rep on the business side and he helped me out with a transferring credit. If anyones interested in switching to Tmobile from another carrier, send me a pm with your email and carrier and I'll forward your email to him.
