So if I'm eligible for an upgrade through T-Mobile, how much would this phone cost? I'm still on their 2 year contract plans. I do have a smartphone (Samsung Focus S) to trade in too.
It looks like $254.99 32GB for upgrade on this site. Plus you would get back the $100 if your phone is eligible to trade in.
It's hard to say if this price is good or bad. I haven't seen any other sites doing a pre-order for T-Mobile yet. You may be able to get it for less from Best Buy or another Authorized Dealer that still offers discounts for 2 year contracts. My understanding is you won't be able to get it direct from T-Mobile for a discount, you have to go to a Best Buy or something similar that sells T-Mobile phones.
If you want to keep your contract, I would wait it out and see what pops up after it goes on sale for real. It could end up being $199...nobody really knows.
I'm just trying to make sure I'm not the only one, but has anyone received information from T-Mobile or HTC about this promo with the free car kit since submitting your email?
When I did this directly through the HTC site I had a special code the next day. I've submitted 3 different email addresses (yahoo, gmail, work) trying to get something back from this new offer, but I never heard anything. Are they waiting until it goes on pre-sale do you think, or am I just out of luck?
And while I'm ranting , I think T-Mobile customers aren't getting as good of a deal as the AT&T pre-orders are getting. That wireless HDMI thingy looks a lot better than this car kit. But I guess I won't have to pay as much per month.
I registered my email on T-Mobile's site multiple times but received nothing. A few hours ago, I got an email from HTC with a promo code for a free case if I pre-order on htc.com, Then I got the same email in my other mailbox saying all the codes have been claimed. Weird that I received that email, if the code is exhausted then don't email people to piss them off.
This is a good deal. I was going to grab a couple since I have old phones lying around that aren't worth anything on eBay or Craigslist, but the terms say you have to have it active for 60 days. I'm pretty sure they don't even have a way to check that for T-Mobile, but it's not worth the risk of them denying the $100 card. I would have bought them to resell, not to actually use.
anyone know if the $30 "walmart" plan is a "qualifing rate plan"? im also wondering when t-mobile will sell this, so i can get the car kit and monthly payments on phone.
You can't get monthly payments for the phone on the $30 prepaid plan. They're extending you a line of credit so you'll have to get on one of their newer $50+ plans with a credit check. No contract though.
