Thread Details

This is the CVS Coupon Discussion thread for questions, scenarios & chat for all coupons (including Manufacturers) that can be used at CVS.

This is the only thread due to the fact another thread that had CVS coupons only turned into a begging thread and was full of abuse.

Still haven't received ANY Extra Care emails. Not even one to tell me my quarterly bucks are here. Don't know what happened to my account. Ever since they put my email address in at the register I've stopped receiving all Extra Care emails. Last time I contacted CS they said I had a 20% off in my account waiting to be printed or sent to card so I should check my email settings. shake head I did that and they are in my contacts to be sent to my inbox. Don't know what is going on. So frustrating! Frown
This happened to me a while back so I went in and changed my email address to a new one and they started coming again. Maybe you could try that.

I had an expired spam mq (expired on 4/3/2013) and asked my cashier if she can still use it. she said no problem and scanned it, no beep and went though fine.

Had a weird transaction yesterday and I'm wondering if someone could explain it to me...

Bought a Revlon foundation and a gallon of milk:

Revlon 12.99
Milk 3.49
Subtotal 16.48

Milk MFC 0.50
3 off Revlon 3.00
4 off Cosmetics 4.00
Total Discount 7.50

Amt Due 8.98

I paid with $9 ECB, so cashier adjusted the EB down by 2 cents. But then the register showed a tax due of 3 cents.

Our tax rate on non-food items is 8.25%, so I'm baffled as to where this 3 cent amount came from. Wasn't worth arguing about, obviously, but I would like to understand how it happened. Any ideas?

What kind of ECB did you have? Probably the one which reduces tax. I can think of (16.48-3.00-4.00-9.00) = 0.48 X 8.25% which is 3 cents rounded down.

I just did that very thing. CS can't figure it out. They said I had a 20% off coupon in my account, but it was never emailed to me just like the past few weeks. Dontknow They sent me a courtesy one and I just changed my email address. Hoping this fixes the problem. bounce

Glad they are sending one. Makes it worth the time you took to ask!

When a cashier adjusts down an ECB, it becomes a CVS coupon rather than a CVS Manufacturer coupon, so it lowers your taxable amount. My tax rate is 10% and I live in a pre-coupon state, so I don't worry about that lost penny or two.

Really? That doesn't happen here. When they adjust mine down they still show up as CVS MFR COUPON and don't reduce my tax at all (unless, of course, they are truly CVS COUPONS). Maybe instead of adjusting them down, yours are manually entered?

ETA: Maybe about 5 years ago, there was a cashier at my closest store who didn't know how to adjust down EB's and so he would enter the last EB as "cash." So I would always hand him my largest one last. Added nicely to my quarterly spending! laugh out loud Of course, he is long gone.

Maybe that's it, but something they are doing reduces my tax.

The $4 was a regular ECB w/purchase; I thought the $5 was too, but it might have been a Beauty Club. Which ones reduce tax?

Both ECBs and the $3 and $4 CVS coupons rang up as "CVS MFR Coupon".

Beauty Club reduces tax, so does any ECB that is manually printed for you
