Problems scanning Q's at SCO? First posted here:

Credit for this goes to Skibum - On the SCO at Safeway if your Safeway coupon doesnt scan you can manually input the numbers using the enter PLU function. Basically its the option where you would enter produce.

A coupon database is available at www.Families.com once you've registered there. Good resource for checking availability & location of coupons for specific items you're interested in. (Thx to errickson for the info!) Another great one is available at www.coupontom.com [http]. And the nice thing here, you don't have to register!

This thread has good info on what coupons are available, what insert they were in and the date.

Coupon use at Safeway
Safeway usually issues store specific coupons via various formats...newspaper ads, mailers & emails. You can sign up for emails on their website.

Their coupons tend to scan fine at any store within their brand, even if the stores are not in the same area. For example, Tom Thumb coupons work at Randall's, and vice versa.

Their coupons also tend to scan fine at any store within their brand, even if the coupon says it's good only at a certain store. The best example of these are the ones issued when a store is remodeling or for a grand opening.

Usually, their coupons scan fine when you are using two different types of their coupons on one product. For example, $1 off Tide from a newspaper ad and $2 off Tide from some other source. This only works when the two coupons are obviously different (check the codes). I am not sure if it would work if you were only buying one item and trying to use two store coupons. I've never had a reason to test that.

Their coupons can be used in conjunction with manufacturers coupons, even if that causes an overage, although they won't pay you to take products out of the store! laugh out loud

Some stores don't accept internet printable coupons, there is a corporate policy on what coupons they take, and some stores follow this policy to the nth degree. If you get to one of these stores, try the store down the street, it is probably much more coupon friendly.

Manufacturer coupons for free or bogo items tend to attempt to give you credit for the price of the item without the card discount, but they usually beep for the cashier to approve the coupon.

Self Checkout lanes (SCOs) are a great way to get out of the store quickly. You can use your coupons except all BOGO, FREE and coupons over $3.00 require cashier intervention. This can be a hassle if you have very many of these type of coupons. You will also have trouble if you're buying a clearanced product that has the % off tag that has to be scanned.

Stores in different areas have different promotional deals regarding the doubling and/or tripling of coupons. If you see someone commenting on it here, you need to check what your local store does.

And while coupons may scan fine, the cashier you're dealing with can make any of the above YMMV. Smilie

Zevia is $2.99. The $1/1 eQ "looks' like it is a store Q (but I am by no means an expert on this). Since I couldn't find the MQ I haven't tried it to see whether it is a beepless freebie or not.
Based on the link it is a manufacturer coupon (sorry, I can't remember who originally posted the info about the link about it has worked for me since it was posted!)

Good deal on Blue Bunny ice cream. There's an in-ad coupon to make them only $2.49 each, and then combine with .75/1 coupons for $1.75 each. My J4U had a .75 off coupon, but there's also blinkie machines on the door at my store. I know it's not super duper cheap, but this is good ice cream and a very good price for it, I think. Smilie

I wonder what the true price of Lipton tea would be. It's tagged as $3.49 or $2.99 WYB 6 or more, yet there's a $2.99 IAC. So the final price would be $2.49?
The in-ad q says limit 4 though..I'm curious as to how this would work..I just bought 1 today with in-ad q..

and I have a JFU for $5.49 for the Lipton tea Mad yeah, give me a JFU price that is the regular price..way to annoy people SW..

ETA: just checked reg.price and it is $4.29, so basically they are telling me I have to pay more than regular price with a JFU Mad

I went yesterday and bought 4 Lucerne cheese....3 blocks (2 with the seal) and 1 bag shreds. Used 4 .35 coupons which all tripled (to my surprise!...usually only first like coupon in TX)! I was very pleased with my .62 /each cheese Smilie

Any more details on the cat for buying $100 MC GC? I'm just wondering if it says the cat will be $10 on a purchase of $25 or more, or if it mentions excluding the variable amount cards, like the Visa wone does.

TIA for a response!

There is a $1/3 in the 6/9 SS. I think that is the right date of the SS.
The coupon is for Sunkist, not Crush.

Nah, no other details. Just "Buy $100 in MasterCard Gift Cards and get $10 off your next shopping visit." Hoping for 10 off 10.

Klondike was 1.19 for me yesterday. There's the in-ad coupon ($2.49), plus I had a 10% off ice cream personal price (-$0.30), plus a $1.00 coupon that came with other coupons in a safeway mailer to my house recently. The mailer coupon said "manufacturer coupon", but it rang up as a JFU coupon.

Keep an eye out for peelies stuck on the 2 Liter and 12-pk Crush Products. The coupon has different purchase requirements based on what product you buy. For this coupon, it's $1/3 (Reads DND on the barcode side) on 2 Liters. Exp 9/30. Of course, it beeps but since it's stuck on the product, it should be an easy override. Comes out to .47 for 3 bottles + any deposit.
