I didnt get a confirmation email yet...ordered 30 mins ago....anyone else have this problem?
I was worried myself so I called, she asked for my confirmation number
"Did your write the confirmation number down on the web page?"
"No mam, people actually do that?"

Looked me up through my email she said it could take up to 24 hours for the email to come. They're waiting for your card to authorize

for those of you who have a homedepot cc, they're offering 12 months 0% financiing on purchases over 299. so if you get the grill, cover, and maybe a filler, you should be able to qualify.

Been seeing Ducanes all over this website for a while now. I wanted a genesis really bad and started my hunt right after the scarce Home Depot clearance of 2011. I have looked at every alert and never found anything of substance. The Genesis is 600 without a cover at amazon. With tax and a cover this deal is still less than half. I just couldn't justify spending that much money on a Weber right now and waiting another year for a "miracle" sale. I am in, thanks OP. Ironically told my friend last year to buy a Ducane for a little more than this last year and he loves his.

It took a little bit - maybe 45 minutes. But I finally did get confirmation email.

Yes, people actually do that. I print a pdf to a file & save on my hard drive. This provides a record & confirmation of my orders. Then if there's issue, you a least have that. With all the said, I did receive my email confirmation for this order and it took about 30 minutes

in this price range, they're all going to rust.
do you know what parts are susceptible to rust? Is there a big difference between Weber and Ducane when it comes to this particular parts? Can one upgrade these rust prone parts with the ones from Weber and how much would it cost? Thanks in advance

is this grill a noticeable drop in quality from a weber spirit/ genesis
second this question. If yes, what exactly makes up this difference?

I looked at the Ducane grills last year. It was time to replace my old clunker Charbroil. To me, they seemed pretty solid even compared to the more expensive, prettier "kitchenaid" and "masterforge" grills at Lowes. I almost bought the Ducane 4200 at $350. Then I decided to go ahead and spend the extra to get the Weber Genesis.

The options:
spend the money on the Genesis and get something durable, cooks well, and will outlast the others OR save money buying the cheaper one, replace it more often (which may cost you more in the long run), and how well does it cook?

I went the first route, and I'm glad I did. I thoroughly enjoy cooking on the Genesis. I always had to struggle with my old grill. It was frustrating at times and inconsistent. Cooking on the Genesis is fun. It just works. It's a whole new world. Not to say that a less expensive grill wouldn't cook well, but when you look at the build quality, the parts on the cheaper grills just aren't going to hold up.

When deciding, consider life span of grill and what the long term cost will be. Also look at reviews to get a feel how the grill cooks. Don't just buy based on the price tag. Go to Lowe's. Open the lid of each grill and shake it a bit to see how it rattles. Pick up the grates and the heat plates. Check the thickness of the materials. Ducane looks to be a bit better than the run of the mill grill, and to me - on par with the Weber Spirit line. Genesis is much pricier, but in my opinion - pays for itself in build quality and cooking performance.

FYI it took a little over an hour from the time I ordered for HD to charge my credit card and send the confirmation email.

Ordered one when they were on the one-day sale a couple of weeks ago at Home Depot. Grill is in the 150lb range. Got the delivery option and the box arrived on a wooden pallet, and they used the lift gate to bring it off the semi. Box isn't that big, would probably fit in a trunk of a car but as I said weight was in the 150lb range. It took a little while putting it together but wasn't difficult at all, good instructions, and I rarely assemble anything. You are only putting together the base of the grill, the burner and assembly are all put together (unlike some of the cheaper grills).

Since shipping is free, I would have it delivered and assemble it at home unless you have a pickup truck and someone to help you get it off the back of the truck if you can get them to assemble it for you. You only need a screwdriver and wrench or pliers and some time to put it together.

Great grill for the money, WELL worth the money. I don't think you are going to find anything better in this price range, or at least I wasn't able to find one. The knock-off brands look good at the store but are no where near as sturdy as these. At the start of the season this grill is a steal for the money.

If you want a new grill in this price range, this Ducane is not a bad bet -- but if you want a Weber for less, check Craigs!
I see $600+ in the DFW area on CL.

Did you need to be home at time of delivery? Do you think they would leave the box on my doorstep?

Just put this grill together on Sunday and I scored a lot of brownies points with the wife. Personally I think it is well constructed and easy to assemble. If you're doing it solo, I recommend removing everything including the lid from the main tub prior to dropping it in place. It makes the whole thing a lot lighter and less awkward.

Thanks for the heads up OP. At $250 shipped I couldn't say no. I can't believe I've lasted TWO summers without a grill SMH.

Brb...going to Costco to stock up on meat.

Thanks in for one. Had it shipped to Home Depot for them to put together. They will do that for free.
