I've been waiting on a deal for a hardshell case for my acoustic guitar. This one just dropped from $60 to $40. Free shipping.

It is the same price on the Musician's friend website, where you can get discounts for spending $100+

Looks like the musicians friend website one is the deluxe version. Looks like it has extra rivets on the side that the amazon one does not. Maybe a better construction?

I own the tweed one, this is a fantastic case! you have to spend about $350 to get moderate improvements in the quality and protection compared to these cases! It really is that good, it was a best buy that I recommended to several friends at $60. I use mine to hold a vintage guitar that's worth $8k. seriously.
I really can't say good enough things about this case.

Good catch, I didn't notice that. I couldn't find the SKUs to compare, but I think the Musician's Friend one is better.

NOT true. If you look at customer images of the amazon one.. the rivets are there, just all blacked out. the MF one are just gold and easily noticeable.

for MF, 7% CB @ Mr.Re... (only 4% for M123).

This is also in MF and M123's eBay stores--in case anyone has eBay Bucks they need to spend

hello SD friends, I'm looking for a hard case for this guitar http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002GXZK4/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8 but from the shape it doesn't appear to be dreadnought, can't tell too well from the photos. I don't currently own this guitar but was looking to purchase it and a case as a gift. can someone point me in the right direction?

Takamine NEX and dreadnought guitars, in spite of their different body shapes, usually have similar dimensions in the areas that matter (length and upper and lower bout widths). I have a Takamine NEX-shaped guitar that fits perfectly in a dreadnought case. To be sure, email Takamine and ask for the dimensions of the Jasmine S34C (askus@takamine.com), and if a standard dreadnought case would work with it.

I believe this Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought case is actually a Guardian CG-020-D--pictures of the two appear identical. You can check the interior dimensions of the CG-020-D here: http://www.guardiancases.com/cg020.html. In fact, if you do an image search for that particular Guardian case [google.com], among the results you'll find the same product photo used for this Musician's Gear case on the MF site.

Another interesting aside: The Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought case [musiciansfriend.com]that MF, M123, and GC sell is actually a Guardian CG-044-D [guardiancases.com], and goes for considerably more under the Guardian name.

Bought this case on sale Christmas 2011 for $50 with free shipping. I was pretty skeptical of what kind of quality I should expect at that price. I was surprised, good solid case, and while it certainly is well worth the $50 bones I paid for it it is an even better deal at $40.
More then enough padding inside to protect my inexpensive Washburn, and like ihavenonickname said, you would have to spend a lot more to get a better case.

I bought this one for my nephew for Christmas. It's definitely worth $40.

I bought this case and this guitar years ago. It fits perfectly.
