I changed my mind and got 2. The one from HD has no adjustable arm.

Makes the water go in a wave form rather than straight line. It gives the feeling that you are getting more water on you while actually using the same.

Does "bigger is better" hold true here? Same flow so I would imagine a little weaker with the 8" but is it negligible?

This is le crap. The arm needs to be much longer so the shower head is directly over you (if you're installing on a standard shower). And looks plastic.
