I see some bad reviews on the Sears website. I definitely need a gas grill, but i'm going to wait for something better like the Ducane Affinity that I missed.

I am gonna crap on this deal too, not from this grill's experience, but another Kenmore grill I bought three years ago. The grill I have is a higher series with 5 burners. The push button ignition is spotty at best, 2 of the diffusers have rusted through, the stainless has rusted in several spots even though it is covered and cleaned properly. Other things that may not be applicable to this model are bad too, but I won't bother mentioning. Based on my experience, I would pass on Kenmore grills as a whole.

I wonder how this compares to Home Depot's $199 Nexgrill. I just bought it today for in-store pick up tomorrow.

I'm also a little concerned about the longevity of the grill but it will be in a garage and I wasn't quite ready to put the money into a Weber yet.

Pulled the trigger - my old cheap one is rusted out and this is the best/cheapest available. The old one lasted into the 4th year and now the grate and heat panels are done - for just over $200 I think it is worth it. My last one was 150, and hopefully I'll get a little more life out of this! (I don't need a Weber for double the money - I'd just feel worse when they rust out after 7 years - this way I can replace.)

Kenmore Warranty:

One Year Full Warranty on Kenmore Grill
If this grill fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within one year from the date of purchase, call 1-800-4-MYHOME ® to arrange for free repair (or replacement if repair proves impossible).

Limited Warranty on Burners
For ten years from the date of purchase, any burner that rusts through will be replaced free of charge. After the first year from the date of purchase, you pay for labor if you wish to have it installed.

All warranty coverage excludes igniter battery and grill part paint loss, discoloration or rusting, which are either expendable parts that can wear out from normal use within the warranty period, or are conditions that can be the result of normal use, accident or improper maintenance.

---------------------------------------

I am looking for a good grill. After looking at those reviews, I am not sure if I should go with this or not. What brand would people recommend? The warranty covers the burners but guess most parts that fail are something else.

My weber is 12 years old and needs to be replaced..... I'm not spending more on a grill than my stove is worth.... This looks like a real nice one for the money... Screw it, in for one. Repped.

Hi,
I just picked this one up but they gave me a store display but I didn't really complain because I didn't have to assemble it. I have a question though - does the back of your unit have a cover or is it open?

FYI - Shop Discover has 10% cashback right now at Sears. I also had a 10% over $200 Shopyourway coupon on my account, and some points, so my math goes like this:

279.99 - 20 (SODL20 code) - 28 (10% code on account) - 24.57 (Discover CB on 245.72) - 13.99 (extra 5% wasn't applying in cart; they credited) = $193.43 + tax

I also had $12 in points, so this turned out great for me. Thanks OP!

You got stainless steel to rust? That takes talent.

You can't judge brands like Kenmore on name; this grill, as with others, are rebadges that could have been made by several other companies.

How did you get them to credit the 5%. Mine came out to 231.99 before tax.
