Every time this deal comes up I have to say that if you don't need the most super high end gaming laptop, the Dell 15R Special Edition deals that pop up every now and then at the Dell Outlet with an i5 processor are a better value in the $500-600 range.
Just curious, do you work for Dell?

Amazing deal! Hop on this if you are in need of a gaming/higher tier laptop right now!

Still too early for me to pull the trigger though, hopefully similar deals like this will be available in July when I will need one.

I wish this laptop had a touch screen. Everything else about it is great.

I still wanna know why people are buying gaming laptops... Do you really need to game while you are traveling? I can see the point for college students, but any desktop machine will blow this away at the same price point. Plus gaming on such a small screen just isn't the same.

I think it's more or less for the versatility and portability. It doesn't need to be used exclusively for gaming, but it's nice to have something you can easily bring to a friend or family member - whether it's for gaming or playing back videos on a TV. This looks like a nice 'cheap' laptop for anybody using GPU intensive applications outside of gaming too. The laptop can handle everything on the market right now, so why not let it be your all-in-one all purpose powerhouse?

This is easily a desktop replacement and for a couple bucks, an HDMI cable would allow you to hook it straight to your old monitor. A win-win for anybody upgrading and looking for any potential mobility in my opinion.

The gpu on this laptop is weak as hell. It cannot be used as a gaming machine, especially at 1080p resolution. I would recommend anyone looking to buy a laptop either go for a far cheaper model, which could perform normal tasks just as easily as this one, or step up to a real gaming laptop.

Hmm your opinion conflicts with another posters view on page one:

"I own and use an HP ENVY dv6-7214nr and it had the same Intel Core i7 3630QM 2.4GHz. It's great, can handle anything I throw at it. Gaming, video editing, web browsing, whatever. Only time I have seen the CPU at 99-100% usage is when I am exporting/rendering video in my video editing software. So it's a very good CPU."

I wonder who is correct?

Or if you are looking for a laptop in this price range and are ok with the performance, then happily buy this one. What was the point of your comment?
