No, the correct solution is do both. Have two cylinders, and then refill them both with dry ice! That's what I do and it's great. First cyl runs out, switch. Then when the second does, get some dry ice and fill both. Makes for much less hassle than refilling one at a time.
You misunderstood my post--I never suggested it wasn't.
For the same reason I have two propane cylinders, all I was saying was that it's handy to have a spare carbonator on hand so there's no pressure (no pun intended) to refill it at the moment it runs out. I wasn't speaking about how someone refills them.
I was just at Kohl's and they have the SodaStream 60-Liter Carbonator Spare Cylinders on sale for $14.99. Use the 30% Kohl's coupon which brings the refills down to $10.49+tax. Average price for refills is about $30 so thought this was pretty good.
thanks op. picked up 2 today at santa clara kohls. rang up 14.99, going to staples today to pick up a sodastream unit with the 20% coupon..hope the coupon works.
Tried to grab a few last Friday, but I got the runaround instead. Left unhappy and empty handed only to find out over the weekend that the store actually did in fact carry some in the back. Came back today after the coupon already expired, dragged the manager out of the office to set things straight. I was nice about it though, but I was firm on my requests. Got taken cared of. Had to price match the Santa Clara store. Now I'm on my way to a glass of champagne!
