Is it true that the j8004 is the same unit, just different color? a lot cheaper
Not trying to sway you, if color is meaningless, then go with the 8004. But even though it lists $40 cheaper, factoring in the discounts it is only $25 cheaper, just wanted to point that out.

Here come the jokes, but, is this a masticating juicer?
If not, not worth buying.

Interesting. Anyone confirm this works?
Correct. The auger on the 8006 (and 8004) are stronger than the one on the 8005 and you can easily replace any of the 8003, 8004, 8005, and 8006 models.

Wonder if amazon will match price like they did last time... Also wonder if the screens are still on backorder (if they ever fail)

I looked at Omega's site and this description but it does not say it anywhere, when you go to the 8004 it is right there in the desciption.
I am waiting for a call back from Omega, could you tell me where you saw that it was.
Thanks!

Got the VRT last years GMA deal. Great juicer. Does it all well, even can do almond milk.

Cleaning is tedious and cutting up the fruit pieces sucks too. If you're getting a juice to make one juice a day its cool. If you're getting the juicer to do a fast which means no food and about 5 juices a day....this will be time consuming.

Nothing is faster then a centrifugal juicer like a Breville or Jack Lalane. The juice doesnt last as long (nutrients wise) but if you shake it and drink it that day youll be fine.

If you plan on spending 30 min at night or the morning to prepare juices ahead of time then any Omega is the way to go.

I have a vitamix that I used then strained the juices through a nut milk bag. By far the smoothest juice ever....but messy. I now used my Omega and a cheap centrifugal. Make two omega juices for work in about 15 min and then a quick juice in the centrifugal for the ride to work.

If you plan to do kale, spinach, wheatgrass than an Omega is the way to go. Centrifugal type juices dont get all the juice out.

One thing bout the Omega's and slow rotating juicers, there will be a little pulp. If you dont dig that you'll have to pour it in a nut milk bag to strain the rest of the pulp. It tastes amazing and smooth but again, just time consuming oh and messy. Be sure to wear an apron and crappy shirt over your work clothes in the morning.....green stains if you dont.

I have this juicer - when i did my research i seem to recall reading that the materials on the 8006 are much stronger than previous models. In light of how much use i give this beast to me that was important.

Regarding juicers - I use a lot of kale and spinach in my juices. If i wasn't using leafy greens i would go with a different juicer because this takes a long time to make juice compared to others. I repeat, if you aren't going to juice leafy greens this is not a good juicer for you compared to the breville and others
