Awesome price, not knocking it. But I own a crappy blender that I've been using for over a month for daily green smoothies. And I've owned a JuiceTiger for ~4 years that I used for about a week when I got it, and now haven't touched since then because how hard it is to clean and how much waste was involved.
Is there something I'm missing about a juicer? I feel I'm getting more out of eating the whole fruit/veggie, but I'd like to hear.
I agree, i got this from the last amazon deal for 199, then returned it as cleaning and prep was a PITA, not to mention the amount of fruit that gets wasted, and you can store the juices for more than 2-3 days, they do go bad. my carrot-celery turned acid after 4 days.
Orange juice just turns to Glob and filtering to remove the pulp is so time consuming.
I'll stick to eating my fruits and let my gut do the juicing :-)

This is not a juicer to juice Orange or any soft fruit . This is an awesome juicer for Vegetables and hard fruit. I have a Jack -Lalanne Juicer and both have their own pros and cons. You can get a good amount of juice from wheat Grass and other leaf greens using Omega 8006 laugh out loud

Is there much difference in shelf life/storage life of juice made in one of these versus a centrifugal juicer? I've read that the centrifugal ones generate some heat and more initial oxygen exposure, but if you're storing it for a day or two anyway, isn't the initial air exposure difference minimal?

Recently purchased J8005 from GMA sale for around $155 including tax and shipping...will be receiving it today...wondering if I should pay another $40-$50 bucks to upgrade to J8006...i think the only difference is a stronger auger on the J8006 ..hmm...
also 15 year warranty

Totally understandable. All juice will go bad and all juicers waste fruit - that's the point of juicing! Cleaning isn't great for any, but you can do this in 3 minutes once you figure out a good order. Can totally understand the turn off. Super happy with mine with appropriate expectations.

I looked at Omega's site and this description but it does not say it anywhere, when you go to the 8004 it is right there in the desciption.
I am waiting for a call back from Omega, could you tell me where you saw that it was.
Thanks!

I have this juicer - when i did my research i seem to recall reading that the materials on the 8006 are much stronger than previous models. In light of how much use i give this beast to me that was important.

Regarding juicers - I use a lot of kale and spinach in my juices. If i wasn't using leafy greens i would go with a different juicer because this takes a long time to make juice compared to others. I repeat, if you aren't going to juice leafy greens this is not a good juicer for you compared to the breville and others
Several online resources claim that the J8004 is the exact same juicer in all regards, other than the color. The J8005 has a weaker auger apparently.

I have the VERT I recently bought for the same price. Is it worth swapping? Looks like this one also has its downsides. Main downsides with the VERT is that it gets clogged when you do more than a cup at a time and when it starts to get clogged you get a ton of pulp in the juice. It also leaks from the base and there is always a pool of juice on the motor. Does the 8006 clog easily with leafy greens and other fibrous veggies? How much can you make at once? The VERT is great if you are only doing less than a cup.
