eginning May 1, consumers who trade in their current smartphone to AT&T* will be eligible to receive at least $100 off the purchase of a new smartphone, including the new Samsung Galaxy® S 4, BlackBerry® Z10 or 32 GB HTC One®. These devices are normally $199.99 with a qualifying two-year agreement** but, with this limited time promotion, they will be available for $99.99.

This promotion applies to any smartphone AT&T sells, and gives customers access to the latest devices at a fraction of the cost or, in the case of smartphones priced under $99.99**, for free. To take advantage of this offer, customers are encouraged to visit any AT&T company-owned retail store or participating authorized dealer with their previous smartphone that is no more than three years old and in good, working condition. In stores, upon trading in their old phone, customers will receive the $100 credit on-the-spot and can use it immediately. ***

Some trade-in phones may have a value higher than $100. In this case, customers will receive the credit at the higher value.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

11/13/2013 Update ---- This deal is BACK!. http://www.att.com/gen/press-room...le-devices

6/11/2013 Update ---- This deal is DEAD. Phones are back to their recycle or minimal trade-in value

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go on their trade in website and print out the FAQs under the "Help" tab.
Quote :
Can I trade in my device(s) at an AT&T Store?

Yes, you can trade-in your device(s) that you no longer need and use the instant in-store reward towards a new device, product, or service at all of our company owned store locations.
5/9/2013 Update
ATT Corporate Store Reps received emails from Corporate dictating that customers are only allowed 1 trade in per visit. In order to trade multiple phones, you must either visit multiple stores or find an employee willing to take in multiple phones in 1 visit.

Still alive. Find stores that don't lie to you.

Ignore the merged OP. The real Slickdeal is here:
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=59261624&postcount=70

Which phones qualify for $100?

Confirm that the phones you are turning in/buying qualify for $100 before you go to the store.
https://tradein-program.att.com/h...c=en-us‎

You will get the exact value shown in store. If it shows $5, you will get $5.

Only the phone + battery + back cover are required. Charger and/ or data cable are not.

Do I have to be an ATT customer?

Trade-in's - YMMV. I had to start a gophone account (paid only $10 and got a free SIM) and used that.

Buying full retail devices - at corporate stores YMMV. Some required no account. While others required at least a gophone account. Promo cards can be used at att.com or through 1800/phone. Ask to sign up for month-to-month service (credit check will be run). You have 3 days to cancel and get all your money back. Wink

Where can the promotional giftcards used at?

Promotional cards must be used at B&M corporate stores, att.com, or over the phone only.

What can I purchase with these?
Things you can buy:
  • ATT wireless bill
  • ATT Uverse bill
  • iphones
  • ipads
  • any smartphones
  • gophones
  • prepaid minutes

I added pics of some eligible blackberry's, the optimus elite along with the receipt showing the $10 FB coupon discount

Lol....they have gotten more strict on the deal. What IS allowed is one phone at the $100 per upgrade/new line. So no, you can't trade in 36 phones and make $3600 dollars. I wish I could help you guys, but that would be asking to get fired.

See you didn't say that. Your post made us believe that the trade in deal without contract was still going on. I had no issue trading in 5 phones per visit before the new restrictions were put in place. We all know the 100 deal is still on going but the contract is now being forced on us to get that $100 for a trade. If you trade it in without contract mnost phones are worth like $6 bux.... Before you could just trade for $100 card to use on accessories, upgrades, new lines, services (u verse cell home-phone ect..). That offer is gone, now it is trade in any phone 3 years old or less for $100 twords a new line or upgrade. Not the same thing.

Also with the 50% off an upgrade or new line with no activation deal.. no need for the $100 anymore as the two cannot be combined.

But thanks for responding.

The title of the thread is " AT&T Trade in program starts 5/1/13 minimum 100.00 for smartphones less than 3 yrs old". THAT deal is still available, with more restrictions. My apologies. As for the 50% off combined with the $100 trade in, you can (should be able to!) combine the two. If you purchase the phone and do store pickup, the price will still be half off, and the transaction qualifies for the trade in.

YES but let me highlight this "minimum 100.00 for smartphones less than 3 yrs old:

"minimum"

That is no longer the case.

If you use the standard trade in program to trade in a phone for a CARD to use when you want without getting a contract, new line ect... Just to buy accessories or pay for services and such it is no longer "minimum 100.00 for smartphones less than 3 yrs old" Phones come up $6 $10 $60 bux ect...ect...(depending on the phone). When this deal started ANY PHONE came up $100 so technically this DEAL is dead. Now that the conditions have changed and there is still a trade100 code and trade200 code to bump those phones that come up less than $100 up to $100 the idea and title of this thread is no longer valid. The idea was to trade in ANY phone for $100 to use as you want on what you wanted at at&t with no pressure to sign a contract. So really in all reality - DEAL IS DEAD.

comp1, get cool with a rep
Offer the rep some of those cheap phones that you purchased.
Deal is still on, just can't go overboard like at the beginning.

I did that... i offered the guy who claims to be a rep One $100 card for every 4 he lets me trade for $100 - that's pretty fair...

While at first I was after devices.

I decided to put all my cards in expiration order and used them in order of earliest expiration to latest expiration to pay my bill for the next 6 months. SO I spent about $500 in phones and my bill is $270 a month and I got enough cards to pay my bill through 2014. ALl the cards coming in the mail now expire 1/2014 So I am good. I would say that is a fantastic deal.. thats comes out to $80 a month to pay my bill!! That is a SLICK DEAL!

I decided I have great hardware, no need to be super greedy, then the early premier iphone5 offer came along on that other super thread we are all on and I made $1500+..LOL

I agree, you guys are writing like you're going through an epileptic attack, slow down and construct a complete coherent sentence.

I've received all 5 of my $100 cards in the mail from the trade in program. 4 came at once and then the 5th almost 2 weeks later. I was worried my spastic T-Mo Blackberry Javelin 8900 wasn't going to to work correctly and I wouldn't get credit but I guess it did! 5 Blackberries being worth $500 is a very Slickdeal.

Now I just need to take them to the AT&T store and buy an off contract S4 to flip for cash to buy the S4 Google Edition from Google Play. I'm not sure if I should buy an iPhone 5 though in hopes of getting more dough on Craigslist for it. Thoughts?

others have flipped their cards to friends at a discount...

easier than dealing with the store's reps who might not let buy the 24 outright....

why do you want the Google S4? I was in the same boat a month ago and ended up buying the Tmobile branded one for less money....just couldn't justify paying $700 for it...

I bought a iPhone 4 at full retail $487.52. I also bought a iPhone 5 with a 2 year contract $250.13. I got the activation waived and they added my jobs FAN account. I get 22% off my Minutes. As soon as I walked out the store I called 611 and updated my IMEI to a dumb phone and took off the data plan. So the bill will be $31.99 plus tax. I loaded up my account via Kiosk with $450 credit. Tomorrow it will be the 15 day and I will cancel it. I'm a state with a 15 days return period! Good thing I didn't get it in CA they have a 30 day. Should get a check from AT&T for what ever is left over. ETF is $325...

I added 60 1gb data for 7 Days on my iPad for $0.99... Best $60 I spent... Got data on my ipad for 1 year... Deal is dead...

I have a lil under $900 left over. I'm going to use that to get the new iPhone that's coming out some time this year...

Hello....I don't understand....so you got an iphone 5 w 2-year contract. out the door, call 611 update IMEI and cancel the data plan. then add $450 by using the trade-in cards(or what??)....then cancel the line and keep the phone by paying etf $325??? so that means your iphone 5 should be $250 + $325 =$575??? Or did I missed something??? that is cheaper than itself (599 + tax??) right????
