Finally got my refund after waiting 11 days, bad customer service. I wouldn't try this service out if even if they have a refund policy, because you have to hassle them for it to go anywhere and wait almost 2 weeks. I can't recommend them to anyone based on their customer service performance, I would hate to see them get back to or help you on any issues.

On another note if you want to compare, Octane VPN refunded me next day after request was made. I cancelled my original account which was more expensive with Octane VPN, and switched to their sale of $29.99 per year(it doesn't automatically bill you full price at renewal like Torguard will). Also their speed is miles and miles faster then Torguard, 100 times better customer service also.

does octane keep logs or forbid p2p?

torguard customer service being brutally awful.

I've been a subscriber for 4 months now and from my experience, this VPN is cheap for a reason.

Along with the poor customer service documented in this thread, it is not uncommon for me to have to connect/disconnect multiple times before it will accept my connection. And when it finally connects, I experience poor speeds on 90%+ of the servers. Furthermore, I purchased this VPN not to torrent or p2p, only to watch legal streams at twitch.tv using the US servers which are suppose to be dedicated to hd video streaming. The problem is its not even fast/stable enough for me to do that without lag making the VPN completely useless to me.

Initially, I had success watching HD streams with this VPN, but the service has gotten progressively worse. Another user theorized that they were overselling the capacity and my experience points to that. The fact that I signed up for a year only to experience service that is unusable in the middle of my subscription with no means to get my money back really makes me angry.

From the promo code, it seems like this promotion is in partnership with slickdeals which makes me lose respect for this website. There were users complaining about this VPN the last time this promotion was on the front page and slickdeals continued to partner with them for this promotion. It makes me sad they endorsed a poor product and put profit ahead of the complaints and poor consumer experience reported by users of slickdeals.

Sorry to hear about your luck. Keep look out for OctaneVPN sale again add their speeds are excellent, especially for streaming which is what is needed. Also if to use Chrome browser try installing the Hola unblock extension, it's free and perfect just for streaming on a lot of sites.

1.2 Mbps or 1.2 MBps ... 1.2 Mbps is nothing. And depending on your connection 1.2 MBps may be little too.
Either is good considering some ISP like Comcast will throttle torrent traffic to 2k/s or less. I respect that Comcast has a right to handle their data as they see fit So long as no one is contractually obligated to use them if their service is throttled. Personally I think Comcast would be better served simply cutting off service than throttle people with out telling them. I convinced my company to distribute drive images through all techs via torrents, Now everyone is getting their service throttled. That said I think they have a monopoly on cable service in most areas. For many it is their only real option. I believe the whole net neutrality argument is bunk. The argument her is if Comcast has an unfair monopoly on cable traffic. The simple solution is more fiber. I wish the government funded internet as it funds the roads. Id rather have fast internet speeds everywhere than new roads.

When i ask for a refund I tell them they have 2 weeks to get the money back into my account or I will be disputing the charge. If they contact me I remind them of the deadline I set. When 2 weeks comes I dispute the charge. The main reason I do this is because if a company gets a significant number of disputes, valid or not, it impacts their processing fees. If more people filed valid disputes in a timely manor more companies would make processing returns a priority. I have worked for many smaller companies who have human who process refunds. I can honestly say that most companies have a process that allows for significant delays. And most employees just push off doing refunds until they feel like it or there is a significant amount and do them all at once.
