55" LG LED 1080p 120Hz 3D HDTV + 4 Pairs 3D Glasses ($720) walmart.com, free ship

Seen this most other places including walmart for $799. Best deal so far was Costco (straightforward) and Sears with SYW points (not so straightforward).

Currently TD has it for $849, no free shipping.

Bought mine from costco couple months ago, love it
great panel with lots of tweaking options.
3D effect is pretty good, specially for this price point

It's the 2012 model, not sure how long they'll continue selling it.

Don't know, not a gamer. But 3D is surprisingly good with movies, i.e.3D source material. Not as good as the theater experience of course, but not bad either.

Thanks. I'll have to look into this TV. Seems like a great deal for the price if you don't want any of the extra stuff like SmartTV, etc.
I also found another site that reviews/compares the other LG TV 2013 models

This seems to be as good a price as I have seen on this TV since BF.

I have basically this set and for the price its great. That said there are better displays out there by a significant amount but if you aren't too picky then this is definitely the way to go.

Is this active or passive? And which one gives some people a headache? I was in Best Buy viewing tvs and they had a 3D LG and Sony side by side and I viewed each one and one was starting to give me a headache.

This one is passive. IDK which gives headaches probably both to be honest.

what type of videos do you need to see the 3d effect?

is it those SBS (side by side) movies?

Yes, you need half/SBS type videos to view in 3D

Just a heads up, this is not a 120hz display. Its TruMotion on a 60hz display, that can't be turned off. So, if you dislike the soap opera effect, you're screwed.

I have the 55LS4600, no soap opera, looks like a normal TV. 120Hz is just a marketing game and faster than the human eye can see anyway. How often do you see movies studios filming at 120Hz?! They DON'T.

Don't you mean the other way around? There is no soap opera effect on this TV.

In for 1. $720 free shipping.
Might not have many "smart features", but, got smart blue ray, all I needed is a dumb TV. 55" LED for the price, hard to beat!
