I though platinum tel was a tmobile mvno?

Anyone using this phone with ptel? Without unlocking it.

yes ofcourse. ptel is on tmobile. works great

btw, what do we need to do to get this to install on win7 when plugged in to pc? are there any drivers we need to install manually?

even with the included usb cable, the MTP USB Device install fails on win7. any ideas?

bastages. spent 30+ mins to find out phone needs to be turned off once and then the device installs properly.

If you are looking for a google voice app for the lumia 521, check out metrotalk
If you don't mind burning your cell phone min. while using GV to make/rec. calls

Major fail there vs. Talkatone or Grooveip and something people need to know right up front so they don't waste their time thinking metrotalk is like Talkatone or Grooveip in that respect. This fact is well hidden and not really mentioned until you install and search around the app for it.

If I saved any of you the time, trouble and dissapointment of thinking this was VoIP app for WP8 you are welcome. Send me some love.

Google Voice is not a VoIP service. Any calls placed through MetroTalk, will use minutes from your current wireless voice plan, plus applicable charges in your Google Voice account. As of the time of publishing, both sending and receiving SMS messages is free."
