Windows phone hmm? I was thinking Galaxy S3 on Tmobile when the clearance deals pick up...
Any clearance on the S3 will likely still be more than double the price of the Lumia. These are unsubsidized prices so costs will not be hidden any more by the carrier. S3 should be ~$300 or likely more even when S4 launches based on S2 prices long after the S3 launch.

For this reason, a discounted S3 will not be a comparably priced alternative to the Lumia within the next year. You will be able to purchase 2 to 3 Lumias for the price of one S3. On the other hand, the S3 is a lot better phone.

I've called 3 stores that have "Limited stock" on Walmart's website and they all say they don't have any. Anyone having any luck finding in their local store?

I'm pretty new to cell phones. Can you explain what makes this phone so much more "basic" then other cell phones? Thanks. Smilie
I'm avoiding opening a WP8 vs Android vs iOS discussion. But here's what I'll say.

It's a smallish phone with low resolution. Relatively slow CPU even for WP8 standards. Build quality is very plasticy. Although the apps quantity are building, there are still some key ones missing and those popular ones that are there, their quality are still in its infancy. No direct Google app support (Gmail, Google Music, Google Maps, Google Drive, etc...) yeah, MS and Nokia has similar services and apps, but Google services and apps are still ahead of the game in the key ones.

This is a fantastic deal. Should blow similar priced Androids out of the water in terms of smoothness and speed.

Btw, at least earlier the Walmart specs were wrong in that they said it has a front facing camera - afaik it does not. But how uses a front camera anyway? Stick Out Tongue

I posted this because I called a store near me , they said they physically had 6 in stock.
My cousin has a wife and two children and they are all upgrading. That would be four phones right there.
And a friend of mine needs a good cell phone.
Short answer , first store I called , the lady said she was holding 6 in her hand , and had not sold any today.

I'm currently a proud owner of a Lumia 900. Had the LG Nexus 4 before this, and the iPhone 4 before that. Wink

microSD slot too. Nice. Nokia is learning. Every phone should have one

Smallish phone = 4 inches is the new small. Stick Out Tongue
Low resolution = 800x480 is hardly "low" IMO, especially for the price point
Build quality = have you actually used the phone? I would venture a guess its build quality is better than most at this price.
Quality of apps = true for some apps, false IMHO for others where the Modern UI makes for a very nice user experience (even if a feature or two of the app may be missing).
Google apps = true, given Google's refusal to make them and its "hate-hate" relationship with MS. Smilie However, Nokia Maps and Drive give you FULL AND TRUE off line maps (i.e. no data usage needed even when you travel), Nokia Music gives free streaming and off-line downloads of playlists, Nokia City Lens is a pretty darn awesome augmented reality app for when you are in a new city or looking for e.g. a new restaurant to try in your own city. Nokia Transit is another great one if you use public transit often. The mail client on WP is also very nice to use. So not sure if I would call Googles "ahead of the game" necessarily.

So in a nutshell its not that "basic" IMO and especially not at this price point. Smilie
