Thread Details

I just got one yesterday at my local Home Depot on Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose, CA. There were only 4 left in stock (now 3) so it is extreme YMMV. I also saw the clearance in another HD in bay area but was sold out already. I added my HFT 20% off one item on top of this to make the deal even sweeter.

Below is the link showing regular price. Based on the review, I think it is a good deal so I choose this one over the 18V one for $99 ( I got tons of 18V batteries).

Wish you luck!

What is a HFT 20% off discount?

Harbor Freight. If you have one around you, the 20% discount coupons are continuous. YMMV on whether HD will allow you to use them based on if they consider HF a competitor for your item.

Harbor Freight Tools 20% off coupon. Home Depot accepts competitors coupons. YMMV though.

It a good price. However, it is a little heavy.

If you are trying to shape shrubs (sphere or square/rectangle) you will quickly get tired with this one, you're probably better off with the lighter electric one--even though you have to keep watching the cord to make sure you don't cut it in two with the trimmer.

Just tried the baby and it is indeed heavy. The battery (which is a monster) would outlast my arms for sure. However for what I am going to do on bi-weekly basis, which is to trim the bushes along the path of about 10m long, I think I can get it done before my arms surrender.

Not on clearance yet at the i30 Arlington, TX location.

How does it compare power wise to a corded model? This looks a lot bigger than the corded one I currently use.
