The 3000 Points thing is a different part of this promo. They are trying to do their Pepsi Points thing again.

You get points for liking their pages on Facebook, Following on Twitter, etc... They have a real limited selection of prizes you redeem your points for. You can get 3000 points when you first sign up but after that it takes forever to get points.

AS to this contest I saw caps at Walmart last night in Upstate NY.

This is handy, because my husband loves mountain dew, but I used their locator to find codes near me there are none in North Carolina?
FYI here are the point values-
Enter your Codes from the following packaging types online & receive icons:

You don't send it directly to pongr like usual. You send a pic of the "Iconic Summer Logo" from the cup, to [email protected], they replied within 5 minutes with the code to enter. You can send it through email or MMS. I used MMS from my phone.
