Just got home from Lowes in Hawthorne (Los Angeles), where they had the "Bonnie plants" brand raised bed kit clearanced for $9.99 (originally $39.99). There were still 2 left.

This model is 5.5" deep according to the box. They are modular, so you can make 4x8 or hexagons if you buy the appropriate number of kits.

The newer model, which looks exactly the same and is under the "frame it all" brand, rings up at the normal price, so look carefully. The older one has the Bonnie plants brand prominently at the top, whereas the new one features "Frame it all". They seem identical otherwise.

The UPC is 738432090930. I didn't think to get the item number down, and can no longer find my receipt. Sorry!

Searching lowes.com for that UPC does not generate a result, but if you google it, it does direct you to lowes raised bed gardens.

It looks an awful lot like this one, but I can't confirm that it's the same item - probably the newer version.

Good luck!

The item # is in the link you gave Smilie it's 86066 and shows as $9.99 still available in Torrance but I'm not going up to LA any time soon.

Sadly, still $40 down here. I have to say that growing food in something plastic does kind of freak me out a bit but I'm sure it's fine.

Nice deal! I paid $39 for my cedar garden beds from Home Depot during the Zombie mulch days. Was debating between buying wood and making the cuts myself vs buying the beds with the coupons. It came out cheaper than buying the wood (since those coupons only applied to garden purchases too). But now I kinda wish I just built my own beds out of cinder blocks!

Anyway the beds I have are decent but probably won't hold up in the long haul. At $10 these frame-it-all resin ones are a killer deal if you can find them. I may keep an eye out for a couple as eventual replacements for my current beds - it doesn't seem like the thin slats of cedar will last that long! Either that or I'll just resort to cinder blocks Stick Out Tongue

Seriously. Those were some good times. Probably the most times I've been to Home Depot, over the course of a few months, my whole life.

Hm, sounds like it might be a nationwide clearance for the older "Bonnie" brand. But it also sounds like it might be to the manager's discretion on how these are priced...?

Confused

Cinder blocks.
  • Doesn't rot.
  • Doesn't move.
  • Create any shape.
  • No cutting.
  • No joining.
  • Ability to stack (three would be the max I would do).
  • Grow flowers/herbs in the holes.
  • etc

$13 for 4x4 cinder block raised bed.
