Is Fried Chicken Racist?

Once again feathers are flying because someone (in this case a Spaniard) offered to serve fried chicken to a person of color. Now the offerer of the fried chicken is branded a racist.

Does eating fried chicken somehow diminish one's humanity? Is it somehow bad? If someone offered to serve me fried chicken I would be happy not angry because I love good fried chicken.

If a golfer of color had offered to make paella for Sergio, would that be equally racist? I think one can be an a-hole without being racist. Or if you are an a-hole to a person of color are you automatically racist?

Tiger, to his credit, has not joined this fray. Perhaps the media are the only people who care and fake offense?

Actually I called my "mammy" Mom, and I wash my Damask Sheets every week, thank you very much.

There is one Sambo's left in business - but due to people feeling the name and story of Sambo's they went bankrupt even though they changed the name of the restaurants. Shame cause they really did have good food - as a young teenager I spent a lot of time in VA Beach; and that was the place to eat in the morning; which of course is how I know about it. I think the one still in business is in Cali.

i don't think so. i think sambos went bankrupt and the restaurants weren't bought by denneys. they changed the name before going out of business though and i don't remember what it was.

the food was about what you can get at denneys or shoneys, when shoneys was still around. but shoneys had the best breakfast buffet by far! after some people started to call sambos racist and tried to boycott them i ate there even more just to support them from the extremists.

haha. no not quite. denneys didn't buy sambos. but denneys has been sued a few times by blacks that claimed they were ignored and not served. so many have tried that after a black class action suit won that denneys has been keeping video records. more recently a black couple tried claiming they were ignored and refused even being greeted for something like 45 minutes. but denneys fought back, released the video footage showing the blacks were lying and were greeted within a minute and seated, waited on and served properly. the best part is denneys is now suing those blacks for legal costs and damages.

I am fairly certain there was a Sambo's in Washington DC, where I grew up. I haven't thought of that place in years! It defintley closed...I recall the food was great!

Never had the chicken tho. Does that make me racist?

The chicken was only served at breakfast?

Maybe the place I went to in DC wasn't sambo's. But I am 99 percent sure it was. Had lunch and dinner there.

But no chicken!
