A $100 gift card on a $2500 bill paid over 2 years isn't a deal.

Has anyone gotten bestbuy to pricematch? BestBuy's site says they match dell.com in the small print, but in the smaller print it says it doesn't match contract cell phones or plans. Probably pretty YMMV, but would be curious to hear if anyone has had success with it.

This is why I refuse to renew my contract. Mine was up 2/2013 and I just bought a phone off ebay.
If you're here in the US (and not on Tmo), you should probably just renew. I know lots of people stay off-contract to hold on to things like unlimited data plans, but unless you're one of those people, you're losing money each month that you stay with the carrier and don't renew. You're going to need service anyway, and your plan prices don't get any cheaper when you're off-contract. The plan prices are in part as high as they are because they want to make up for the ~$450 discounts they're giving you on new phones.

I never understand this argument. You're going to be paying the $2500 over the next two years regardless of whether or not you renew a contract or not.

But a question is whether or not Simplicity allows the phone to be transferred to his old number without violating their agreement? Also, not totally sure on this but heard once you cancel the old line you no longer have access to the number unless it was being porting to a different carrier.

Nope not true. If youre disconnecting your old line in which your contract has already expired. This has nothing to do with Simplexity. The line in which you've activated with them will remain active.
Can u explain this more? Im do for an upgrade. So u add a new line. Get the phone call verizon and tell them u dont want new line. Switch it to eligible line? Please elaborate

Do they charge sales tax in CA? If so, is it on the full retail value or the actual purchase price?

Yeah, Sprint seems keen on acquiring new customers, which I fully understand .... but they seem to have NO interest in *keeping* existing customers! $220 when others are paying $100 less is BS.
