Tmobile gaining more customers? or losing money?
Carriers providing free SIM cards (without any airtime) is the norm in most of the world and should be the norm always.

i know that...sim costs money...ST did charge for sim cards so it's not always the norm..

I guess that's a little price to pay for marketing and hopefully gain more customers...

the NOKIA LUMIA 521 prepaid phone comes with a T-Mobile Card Micro-sim Card does it also come with the first month prepaid.
I bought the phone from HSN for $149.99 and an activation kit along with T-Mobile sim card was offered.
I only need to know if it comes with the first month of prepaid included with this phone?

i want to use the Nokia Lumia 521 for SimpleMobile.

why does it ask for a CC? Any Bypass?
Pay cash in store. Address verification and soft credit pull is there to cut fraud and to tie those SIM cards to you.

SIM cards used to have $3.34 after activation. Removing that alone pays for SIM card + shipping costs.

This also clears old stock.

Okay I'm not very sim-card savvy...but I got 1 SIM and 1 MicroSIM........so now what? lol.

I've been meaning to port my house number to an at&t gophone so that I can use that number for google voice and the obi100 from the father's day deal.

But I was hoping that instead of getting a gophone, I could put one of these t-mobile sims into an old phone I have and somehow do this whole process without the gophone..but I don't know where to start.

Do I need an old t-mobile phone? I only have old AT&T and Verizon phones (the phones that have Snake, and the Razr)

You can do exactly that. Put the TMO SIM in a phone and port your home number to TMO. And from there to Google Voice.

You'll need a TMO phone or any unlocked GSM phone (even if from AT&T).

How do I know if it's an unlocked GSM phone? I mean for example if I have an old at&t cell phone and put the TMO sim in it, will the phone suddenly come to life? do I call to add minutes? do I have to pay for 2 year service or does it become a prepaid phone?

Thanks for answering my questions. The only SIM experience I have was transferring the sim card from my dad's blackberry to his iPhone 3G and the service magically appearing on his iPhone afterwards and not having to pay for a data plan still.
