Thread to tell people about a good stock you see, or think will be good
give it to me, or put it in the wiki, in this form to make it easy. I think this forum would be good for the "Hey I got 6k what should I invest in" threads we see all the time, as people will tell you why they like it and what they expect it to be.

Just an example, I bought in under $5 and sold at $12 in less than a year.
I want to feel like I am doing SOMETHING more than a mutual fund, but not really put a lot more effort than that into it. I personally have a ROTH that I want to move $5-10k around into stocks that are undervalued (don't we all), so it would be nice to see what people think or know.

My companies stock was under $1 three years ago, and i told every person i met to buy into it. 14 months later it was $5, there was no doubt in my mind it was going to at least double in a year. This is the stuff i was looking for here.

So your looking for stocks or just suggesting bofa?

I bet ford will gain more percentage wise than bofa by the end of the year.

I bet IENT will triple within the next year

Both are companies I am invested in.

...nice forum to see who has a finger on the pulse of the market and who has good intuition. Plus everyone is looking for good tips for this kind of stuff for free, and that is unbiased. ....
Just want to address this. Just because it's on SD does not mean it's unbiased. You have no idea who's posting what information based on what agenda.

In reality, a thread like this will do very little good.

For the vast majority of investors out there, they should diversify, invest in index funds, and let it ride over a long period of time.

Most home investors who try to buy / sell stocks over the short term will lose far more money than long term investors, due to transactional costs or losses in investment. It's very hard to game the system, more like gambling than investing. Just posting for newbies who may be new to investing.

I don't think the intention is to take the recommendation with absolute authority. I would expect each person to research the potential investment. There are 10s of thousand of stock plays and this could bring light to overlooked stocks.
