This is my first post on SlickDeals so please forgive my ignorance and my (probably lame) questions.
Is a "Hot Deal" and a "Slick Deal" the same thing?
What makes them hot or slick? For instance, is 20% off a regular price hot or is 50% off a regular price hot?
If I were to post a deal I found on Amazon that has say a 10% discount, would that be too little of a discount?
I imagine that all of my questions will eventually self-answer as I hang around but if someone could possibly give me a kick start, it would be appreciated!
Thanks for reading my post and for possibly answering my questions!
It's subjective. Some items are never on sale so when they get a 10% discount it's a hit.
Some members have been here for years and remember when all price mistakes were honored...so they require an item to be at least 50% off before giving kudos.
I have seen suggestions of checking prices against eBay, Amazon etc before posting them here.
But for me..if I think it's a deal I go ahead and post the item (after checking to see if it's a repost) and then I let it go...I check back to answer questions if need be but I don't let it get to me *anymore* if it just fades away to the next few pages without so much as a comment...or if people think it's a crappy deal I just add a post saying sorry and let it die an ugly death.
I learned many times over...you can't please everyone.
Another day, another opportunity. Don’t let it slip away.
