Frequently Asked Questions

How can I reach the spending limit?

There are numerous ways to reach the spending limit. You can buy Chase Gift Cards ($500 denominations, limit of $2,500 total every 30 days, no maintenance fees, cards expire but can be replaced). You can transfer money on Amazon Payments ($1,000 monthly limit, $10,00 yearly limit, requires transferring money to a person with their own bank account and home address, no fees). You can pay bills (even in advance with some companies). Possibilities are endless. Some chose to buy vanilla gift card from office supply stores. Though there are activation fees, the 5x reward points for office supplies more than covers the fees.

Buy 5 $200 cards at staples for $1,034.75
5x points = 5173.75 points earned
cost per point = 0.672 cents per point

But 2 $500 cards at CVS for $1,007.90
1x points = 1007.90 points earned
cost per point = 0.784 cents per point

So you are better off going to staples if you are just worried about getting the most points for your buck nod

How can I liquidate my reward earnings

There are several options to sell your points. Advertising services is not allowed on Slickdeals but there is a thread where users can share experiences with selling their points. There is some risk in taking this route, there is the possibility for account closure, lost points, ban from card company. Most have had no issues at all, but tread carefully.

But Damn! Closing on house is not until October, but very tempting. Hope this returns in few months before furniture shopping.

It's rewards2cash.com

They offer to buy off your credit card points. I've done this for the AMEX Platinum 100K offer and walked away with about $1250.

It's risky for Ultimate Rewards though (Chase), since the Terms stipulate you can't transfer points to anyone other than your spouse. So you might get your card shut down after the points transfer.

100k for $1250!? 100k amex is easily worth $4000+ when transferred to partner airline for travel

Chase seems to be stricter when it comes to having a business, vs Amex. Never had any problem applying for business card with amex but tried to apply for a business card for hubby, got a 30 day waiting response, called the reconsideration line and a lady asked like then thousand questions about our business, and refused to accept our explanation about being independent contractor, and rejected the app. Very frustrating

Yeah. I mean, I did consider the value of booking a flight with the points, but I didn't have any overseas travels planned, plus, I can't really book a first class/business class flight by myself and make my gf sit in coach (unless we spent another 4 grand on her ticket) LMAO

me too, just did it 2 weeks ago...please someone help...
Yes, Chase will match a current offer within the past 90 days. Just send them a secure message from your online account and they should match.

Just private message them about the new offer. They matched me immediately with United 50k and $50 statement credit.
What did you tell them for the United card? I have the 50k offer but no $50 statement credit that I'd like.

The Ink Bold/Plus can both transfer points to partners just like the Sapphire Preferred card.
