Newegg is 519.99 as I write this and Amazon through a 3rd party is 468.xx.
And I believe you get points regardless of which payment method you use.
You believe? You clearly don't know rakuten then. You only get points for rakuten payment and the current price doesn't mean it's a good deal unless you have to have it now. Lowest price was on newegg 2 months ago for 345. Why would you pay $.80/GB now just for points with possible fraud. Crucial has a 1 TB SSD for 599 and now Apple has put pice in consumer devices (which i am sure in the next year will proliferate) where you can get real NAND speed not limited by sata 3 bottleneck.
I have been thinking about buying one of these, and I pulled the trigger and bought this one. For 419.00 this is a great deal; not the best ever but a damn good deal. You ask why you would pay $.80 per GB, it is simple, for the best SSD around. Five-year warranty, fastest read/write speeds, lowest(by far) power consumption. Right now my laptop lasts close to 5 hours on battery, I am hoping with this sexy little thing, I can see closer to 6.
I am not interested in the points, just the good price on the SSD.
