I just called Discount tires and asked if they do free installation if I just wheels.
Ans : NO

If I get both tires and wheel, will I get free installation.
And : YES

Also ,I was able to negotiate with him and brought price down on MLB Alpina another 20 $.Smilie

Also, Wheels have 3 year finish warranty on them and they will replace it for free . Big Grin

And If wheels dont fit, they will take it back on their own expense. Big Grin

Good luck guys!!

Where do you see that? I don;t see that on the rebate form.
I saw it in "Discombobulated"'s post"
"$100 Visa Prepaid Card on Select Sets of 4 Tires or 4 Wheels installed. Online/Redemption forms located here."

Hey, would you be able to provide more details here please (link would be highly appreciated)
i need 4 tires but don't want to burn a big hole in my pocket.
If you have a basic car like a toyota camry/corolla size. Each wheel is about $95 X 4 wheels. Then take off all the added charges in your cart (certificates/tpms) and you pay $380 - the mail in rebates and the carcareone rebate. about $170 discount.
$380 - $170 = $210, no tax for you lucky SOB's (i get taxed in texas for this site)

Hi guys, I've been looking for some tires deal and I'd like to jump on this sale if I can get some answers. I have a 08 Honda Odyssey EX-L and the factory size is 235/65-16. DTD only shows 225/70-16 for my car. Would this also work on my car? also, is CareOne card like a credit card, or just a discount card for DTD? thanks
They will work per se but a 225 is a narrower tire (9.25" vs 8.86") plus it's slightly taller so your odo will be off by a bit.

Called in to answer a couple questions.

TAXES in THESE STATES: ARIZONA, TEXAS, OHIO

You can get staggered tires. IE, you can get different size Tires in front and back and still qualify for the rebates. Just buy the same brand and model.

I think this deal is great for a small car purchase. If you need 14" to 16" set of tires. Your cost is about $360-400 for tires minus $170ish in rebates. = ~$200 out the door,

But for bigger cars and rarer wheel sizes, the deal aint so great.
$720 ish tires minus $170ish rebates = $550 out the door. Not so sweet.

argh, texas tax too. add 8% to the pre rebate cost

Is there a deal with buying just one new tire? My brand new car already has a bad nail near the sidewall with less than 500 miles on it. I don't need all 4 tires.
I just had the same thing happen to me. Bought a car with 2,000 miles on it, a week later a nail through the sidewall. I had to have Discount Tire special order a tire that would match the other three, as I was told the others would wear unevenly if I replaced it with one that didn't match.

so basically you get a $75 cash card when you buy 4 tires...kinda like $75 discount? or is it more of a gift card for future purchases at discount tire?

ARGH. I just bought 4 new tires from TireRack on Monday. Received 'em yesterday.

4 205/55R-16 Continental PureContact with EcoPlus Technology for $502.52 shipped.

I can get the same tires with this sale for $392.00 shipped.

TireRack's website says they don't price match, but I emailed them to ask if they would refund the $100 difference anyhow. With the $100 + $30 rebate from DiscountTire I would still come out ahead even when eating the return shipping fee to TireRack.

We'll see what they say.

What should I buy? Please help, much appreciated!

vehicle make / model / year: 2005 Toyt Matrix 2WD
tire size: 205/55ZR16
miles drive a year: 15k
conditions (weather)/road type(s) you drive in/on: flat midwest USA. Lots of potholes and snow during winter
type of driver you (or the main driver of the vehicle): moderate driver
expectations - want comfortable ride / stick like glue / last a really long time etc.: I want some tires with good value and will last a long time. Mostly value, comfort, and reliable.

I'm looking at either Hankook or Kumho. I really want tires that will last and are sticky as well.

if you're going to be changing tire sizes, this is a good tool...
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

tread is 10mm thinner.
sidewall is 0.2in taller.
speedo will read 1.3% slower, so at 60mph you'll actually be doing 60.8mph.

normally not a great idea to go thinner, but you "can" if you want to. some shops will also give you crap if they look it up.
