I love my G700. Went through a ton of mice before ending up with the G700, including numerous Razer mice, and other Logitech offerings. I actually just leave mine wired, which doesn't bother me at all given my desk space. Of course others may have differing opinions on that.
I'm currently using a g5 from an mx518. I should really buy the g400 since I loved the mx518 but I'll give g700 a shot. I think I'm going to be bothered by the weight but it's a matter of getting used to it.
Only issue with the g9x is Logitech no longer manufactures it.
If it dies they won't send you another g9x they will send a g600 bleh.
Maybe it's a recent change but my g9x died out maybe 3 months ago and they were able to send a replacement for me. I actually picked up a g600 on sale shortly after getting my g9x replacmeent and it's a pretty good mouse too. I don't think I really put all those buttons to good use since I stopped playing MMOs but the mouse exceeded my expectation in terms of design and it's pretty comfy to use.
Setpoint has been updated somewhat recently, so a lot of the review videos/screenshots you see are not accurate (it's not the red-themed one anymore).
I bought the mouse earlier this year and downloaded the new LGS software version 8.45.88 from their website. It had issues with the ALT + TAB function so I downgraded to Logitech Setpoint 6.32 which contains gaming setpoint version of 5.46.10. And presto the problem went away.
Logitech support wasn't helpful, although they did pupdate the LGS software to version 8.46 a few weeks afterwards. I have not tried the new LGS 8.46 yet but AFAICT from their website, the new update fixes don't include the ALT + TAB issue.
If anyone is having issues with the new LGS 8.46 software with the G700 I'd recommend downloading Logitech Setpoint 6.32 from Logitech FTP site and try to see if that would address any possible issue that could be caused by the new software.
