I pulled the trigger...literally

41,172 2,080 June 19, 2013 at 01:09 PM
Bought my first firearm. Should pick it up at the dealer in a couple of days. Couldn't find one locally.

Springfield XDm 9mm. It felt best in my hand after shooting it, Glock 17 and 19, a Sig, and a couple of others.

It's my first gun, so don't give me a hard time about it being only a 9mm. Annoyed

Whee <--- anti-Podium spray

I've only been a few times, but all in the past couple of months. Started with a 1/2 day intro class, did a one-on-one hour with an instructor, and.since then I've gone a few times on my own. I bought an annual membership at the indoor range; I'll probably go about once a month.

I also bought a tiny S&W Bodyguard 380 to carry, but I don't take my class until August, then I'll get my carry permit.

No, full size. 4.5" barrel. Don't need it for carry - I got the S&W 380 for that. Might get a compact down the road. When I get more proficient, might trade the XDm for a larger caliber.

It's the only thing I could find that shoots bullets fast enough.

In no particular order:
1. Because I can.
2. Home defense.
3. It's kind of fun to shoot.

Very cool. I take any chance I get to go to the firing range.

Because he couldn't find anyone giving them away and he's too honest to steal one?

Decent deal, given the current market... $592 OTD, including the fee to the local dealer for the license transfer. Locally they're around $650 if you can get them.

My county also charges $5 per permit for a Pistol Permit, which I got a couple of days ago.
