Worth noting that you can add a 2 year Walmart care plan to this (which does cover accidental damage) for $57 and its still cheaper than an Apple refurb and you gain an extra year of protection (not to mention that Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage at all). Also notable, 15 day Walmart return policy so you can pick it up, check it out, and if you are unhappy then return it. Obviously Apple is known for impecable refurbs so there is a lot of value in that but with the 2 year care and 15 day return policy I think this is a pretty good deal.
[QUOTE=yarnim;60272094]except that sometimes you would get burnt from them as I did with the 3rd gen.
What you wrote was my exact thoughts when I got my 32gb 3rd gen ipad with retina.
i was fortunate to get it for like $475 back when it was still pretty new to the market.
a few months after, BAM, 4th gen right at my face. like what the hell man.
I honestly thought that I would atleast keep the most updated ipad for atleast a year but it didnt even last half a year.[/]
Its apple so thats bound to happen no matter what. Fact is, if the 5 launches in October (as is expected) then it will be about 3-4 months after that until you see a bunch of refurbs hit the market. It is NOT when the new iPad launches (unless you are paying new MSRP) it is when the wave of refurbs hit the market which is generally a few months later.
