From my experience, customer retention will offer you $25 for five months if you call to cancel your auto-renew near the end of your subscription. If you let your subscription expire, you will be able to avail of this $25 for six months promotion.

I just canceled my account after about 5 years of listening to XM go downhill. They offered me this too. I never did pay over half price. Always call back and talk to a different agent if they don't give you the price you want.

I tried calling in several times, they wouldn't give me the offer so I just let mine expire.

What's the likelihood of getting them to throw in Internet listening for free with the $25/6mo rate?

I tried to get the internet for free with a 6 month re-up but they said no way. Granted this was almost a year ago, so YMMV. Tried with two reps and gave up. I know, I'm a quitter =)

It should be noted that the Internet subscriptions work differently. I too have tried a number of times to get the deals on the Internet only services and have had no luck. These deals often apply if you have one of their radios or own a vehicle with Sirius/XM

I just called in to renew/cancel my 6-for-$25 subscription which was expiring. She actually tried to sell me on the $80-per-year offer as "better" for me. After I turned down that and the 5-for$25, she put me on hold for a few minutes before approving the 6-for-$25 renewal.

I never asked about the Internet listening, my chances didn't seem very good. Oh well.

Retention won't normally offer you 6 months for $25 unless you persists on cancelling. They will start with the half of for one year...then half year and finally 5 for $25. You must insist on 6 for $25 and then they will put you on hold and come back to OK the deal.

I've done it multiple it times on multiple radio's.

I got the "Sirius Select" plan when I renewed the 6 months for $25 deal. The channel lineup for Sirius Select includes 2 Howard Stern channels.

I've tried numerous times, they never budge nor offer me 5 or 6 for $25. The best they will do for me is $179/yr for the lowest tier so I just decline. They just tell me to call back if I change my mind.
