this one would certainly seem to be targeting the same lower tier of gaming as OUYA unless there's something about Android gaming that hasn't been demonstrated thusfar.
That's a whole lot of assumption you're doing there. There's nothing about Android that prevents developers from making better games. They're currently merely limited by the hardware they have to work with. Since we know absolutely nothing about the hardware of this console you seem to be really jumping to conclusions.
The hardware Android is actually getting rather good. From what I have read, the new Tegra chips clock in about 1/4 of what you get out of a Core 2 duo. Looks pathetic when compared to the 1/17 benchmark vs the i7, but not bad for a dinky little phone.
Given the looks of some games like Deadspace or a good number of the Gameloft titles, console like graphics are not far off on Android. I would imagine Google doing a much better job of integrating this than Ouya or anyone else. They just need to convince the world that there is a market for it.
