Generally speaking, reviews on Amazon are positive. Given historical prices, $40 seems like a good deal.

Bought mine for $50 recently and was worth it. Took it camping last weekend and it worked great. Used it for 8 hours over the two nights and it had enough juice left to recharge my iPhone from dead to 60%. Don't know if it will get the advertised 18 hours, but I was happy with the battery life I got out of it. It was also easy for others to connect to it and play music from their phones.
I think sound quality is very subjective, so I will only say that the sound quality and bass response are good considering the small size of this device. To me, the Jambox has more bass, if that's important to you. But I paid $120 for my Jambox and I can get 3 of these for that price.

I'm buying a couple of these as gifts for friends at this price.

I can't think of a time I would actually be able to use this but it is tempting Stick Out Tongue Does 10% ShopDiscover apply? Appears it would (doesn't list goods being excluded)

I picked one of these up via Woot! a few days ago. I have been impressed with the volume of the little thing. I found that you can get a little better sound quality if you have something to reflect the bass back at you. Taking it with to the cabin "up north" in about a week so we can have some tunes down by the lake. I paid $48.99 from woot with shipping, so this seems to be a good deal.

Nice deal. Anyone know how this sounds compared to the Urge Basics or Ooontz that was on sale recently?

Just saw this on youtube. Looks pretty tough.

In for one. 14 days free returns. I'll take the risk. The charging of the phone seems like a nice option.

Submitted to Amazon for a pm. If I can get the black for $40 I guess I'll be in, low chance though.

Anyone have any idea how this compares to the iHome portable speaker?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...UTF8&psc=1

Got it for only $2 more than this JLab speaker, but it hasn't shipped yet.

I just received mine last week from woot.com. Used it for the first time this morning while on the treadmill. It sounds great and can easily be heard over my noisy treadmill.

I've mentioned in previous thread as well that I have tested several $0-$150 bluetooth speakders.. my rating will be as follows for the ones I have...
1. JBL Charge (Best Sound, serve as backup battery, No Speaker Phone)
2. JBL Flip (Great Sound, Speaker Phone, low battery life, NO usb charger)
3. Urge Basics (#1 For money and sound quality)
4. Jawbone Jambox
5. Monster Clarity HD
6. JLab Crasher (Good built, Sound is just OK)
7. XtremeMac BT Soma

Thanks, listened to the Flip at Target. Sounded much better than Jambox. Man I wish I got in on the $30 Urge Basics. Oh well I will test this one out. I have the Clarity HD at work. It sounds good although the bass is a little weak. But it is clean sound.
