I have an Memorex MRX-800L. Which is rebadged Liteon( iHBS212). Bought it from Fry's for 67$ just after Black Frfiday 2012. It came with software. A Suite from Cyberlink With PowerDVD10. I don't expect the Bluray SW to work forever but at least I didn't have to hunt around for something to use. And cyberlink wants 44.95 to upgrade PowerDVD13
I just think this limitation should be pointed out to those that are unaware of it. The Memorex was my first Bluray and I think it got mentioned someplace about the software being included which I was clueless about beforehand
I've thumbed up the deal and added reps to the OP

For those that get their panties in a bunch over no softwares included, I have listed a few softwares that I think are the easiest solutions for you.
Nero 12[frys.com] - CD/DVD/BluRay burning software. Often free after rebates or $10 after rebate from Fry's. $25~$30 initial investment if you don't own any other burning software for the upgrade rebate. Subsequent versions will be free to you. This is a software suite that includes a cheapie Bluray player.
Anydvd HD[slysoft.com] - Removes DRM so you can rip or play movies from your PC. I believe it's around $100 for lifetime updates with coupon. Yes, you can close your mouth now. I'm lucky for being an early adopter so I paid significantly less.
Powerdvd[newegg.com] - Another Bluray player. Goes on sale a few times a year for around $20 ~ $40 after rebate.
There are other free software alternatives. You can go hunt them down with a bit of work. I'm sure many others will chime in after seeing my examples and think that anyone willing to spend that kind of money for these softwares are crazy.

No Software provided. In evaluating a Bluray drive and its pricing this is a critical detail.
Agreed, but this drive is pretty much sold as a bare drive by all retailers, so the price is a apples-to-apples one. Think TDMVP73 amd I were involved in a couple of Frys threads where one poster claimed the LG "B" model commanded a much higher price because it was better vs. the W, when in fact it was just the retail kit vs. the OEM, same mechanicals. It might make more of a difference if you were buying a combo/player, but for a burner you probably already have a mastering pkg in mind or have acquired a player either thru a free site or FAR deal here. Yes PowerDVD is a nice bonus if there, if it's just a lite pkg or earlier version maybe not enough to command the $$ premium.
Well dam nabbit' my panties are in a bunch! And not the good kind rolled up on the floor next to hers, the serious kind where prices go up...; price is now $59.99 AR. I'll never ever ever never ever shop at (wait they have what? For how much? I'll take two, and throw in some of those USB powered toilet seat warmers. Gotta keep the tush warm while I'm surfing with the laptop on the royal throne.), I just Newman'd myself/
Way to ruin Christmas in July for me Mr. Direct. You are on my naughty-no-no list once again you dirty cheeky man you.
Seriously, was this known to be a one day sale?!?
