QVC's special today is for Tracfone's 840G. They are including 1500 minutes and a phone replacement program for $89.97. They show retail value of over $260. Great deal for anyone looking for a new Tracfone, the minutes part of the deal is worth it alone. The phone comes in both white and black with a variety of back cover choices. The price ends at midnight EST tonight.

Just in case people do not know Tracfone gives international calling to over 100 countries for no additional charge, it is what I use mine for along as my backup emergency phone. Happy shopping!

Looks better than the expired deal at HSN: $10 cheaper (no speaker) and 100 more minutes. Very tempting.

hmmm, not bad. I bought this phone with 600 minutes in the $45 ebay deal at the end of may. still haven't activated it though, waiting til end of summer to give to son when he goes back to school.

For people who don't use a lot of minutes, might be worth it. Otherwise the ebay deals are better, you could get the 1 year of service just by adding 3 $10 cards, and pay $20 less for same phone & year of service & only maybe 400 less minutes, after codes.

Great phone for those who don't need a full feature Smartphone. Both my wife and I have an LG 840G that I purchased at Kmart during BF for $30 each and they are a huge step-up from our old flip phones.

I think its a good deal, I bought one. This one won't dial 911 randomly like the other tracfone with wifi I bought on BF. (S390g, you know who you are!) funny how QVC states that the 1500 minutes is worth $200. On Tracfones site, it only costs $99 for 1450 minutes (400x3+250 bonus). At most I'd say its worth $161. cost me 98.

From FAQ's:

Q: When connected via Wi-Fi, is the customer charged minutes for Internet usage?
Yes. Minutes will deduct as normal even when connected to Wi-Fi.

I'm not sure this is correct. This is not the case with my wife's wi-fi samsung tracfone. Any thoughts?

My (9 months) with this phone is it is a depressing piece of bad engineering. There is nothing smart about this phone at all. Yes it is touchscreen, but the usability could not be more poorly designed. The triple minutes are there for a reason.

Just my 2 cents.

I bought the same phone(S390g) during a deal last year also. (Sorta)Glad to see I am not the only one with the 911 issue. Jumped on this deal as I almost out of minutes from the previous deal.

I would assume it's true, if you are calling with your TF number. to get free calling via WiFI, you usually have to use something like google voice, and that means android, That's what I have on my android, with the tmobile $30/mo plan, to conserve the 100 minutes/mo when making outgoing calls from home/work.

I kind of need another 840g, for my other child. I would have bought this if my $20 HSN coupon was still valid. But alas it expired sunday Frown Without the $20 off, I still maintain the $45 ebay deal was better than this.

Did you try any of the hacks to install better java apps, such as google maps and opera browser? If not, you may find a little effort is worth a lot of effort. The attraction of this phone is that it is wifi, and you have hacks to leverage that by installing apps not normally supported by tracfone to make use fo them on free wifi connections. If you're not bothering to make that effort to take advantage that, I agree, what's the point, just get a cheaper TF bar touch phone

I'm really just thinking about for data. email and checking a mobile page showing where my bus is = 80% of what I do with my current phone. I think I could do some of that with open wifi here and there.
