They said on the press conference that 190 people were evacuated, 2 are confirmed dead, and 60 people are unaccounted for. That's according to CNN, I missed the press conference.

"Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference."
"When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life."

"When I was younger, my mother said to me that if you become a soldier, you will be a general. If you become a priest, you'll end up as the Pope. But I wanted to be an artist, so I became Picasso." ~Picasso
From what I read and eyewitness reports, it appears the plane started to sway. My guess is either from it stalling or maybe excessive wind....
At which point I think the pilot made the decision to go around and maybe the angle to attack was too much and the plane pitched too high, thus striking the tail hard and snapping it right off, then the plane bounced on the runway, turned around due to maybe thrust from one engine since the other snapped off from the hard landing and rolled into the dirt and catching fire.
That's my analysis. Can I paid now?

They are now saying everyone has been accounted for. There are two dead, 182 injured and 123 who weren't injured.
Asiana Airlines flight 214 departed Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Korea at 4:35 PM local time bound for SFO, the Asiana Airlines said. The Boeing 777 crash-landed on runway 28L at about 11:30 AM. The flight carried a total of 307 people including 291 passengers and 16 crew members.
As of 8:25 PM San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White said that a total of 182 injured passengers have been transported to area hospitals.
A total of 49 people were transported to hospitals directly from the scene, around 26 of them to San Francisco hospitals and the rest to San Mateo County hospitals, Carnes said.
An additional 132 were transported after triage. 123 people have been accounted for in the terminal of the airport, and were uninjured.
The two fatalities were found outside the plane on the runway when firefighters arrived on the scene.
Some passengers were found in the water when firefighters arrived on scene, but the plane was not in the water, Hayes-White said.
Given that the plane was on fire following the crash, Hayes-White speculated that passengers might have sought out the water to deal with flames or burns.
Ha! Gotta love the capitalistic animal spirits! Hotels surrounding SFO increased their room rates from $100-$150/night to $1000/night to take advantage of passengers stranded by the plane crash! American capitalism at its finest!
I was on that plane a few months ago,its a top class airline, they have full staffing level all during the flight
san francisco is a bad airport to come in because its over water, they were lucky they did not land in the water and evacuated so soon,a british airways 777 had problems a few years ago when it crashed,i see they had sanfrancisco fire dept down there as well as airport fire,it takes 13 minutes from san Francisco
the tail hit either the sea wall or the runway and came off,a few passangers said they knew they were too low,but you cant tell as a passanger as your over water and then the runway appears,2 dead 1 missing is not too bad everyone could have been killed,49 serious injuries, some one reported the wings came off but they look intact in the photos, its the strongest part of the plane, either the plane engines lost power or the pilot was going to slow,or some cargo could have moved in flight to the back causing the tail to hit,or auto pilot failed
from the british airway crash
Following an uneventful flight from Beijing, China, the aircraft was established on an ILS approach to runway 27L at London Heathrow. Initially the approach progressed normally, with the Autopilot and Autothrottle engaged, until the aircraft was at a height of approximately 600 ft and 2 miles from touch down. The aircraft then descended rapidly and struck the ground, some 1,000 ft short of the paved runway surface, just inside the airfield boundary fence. The aircraft stopped on the very beginning of the paved surface of runway 27L. During the short ground roll the right main landing gear separated from the wing and the left main landing gear was pushed up through the wing root. The aircraft was written off
