A jury, picked out by both sides if i understand it correctly, heard and saw all the evidence and decided he was not guilty.

A black juror will almost securely side with trayvon this is why no lacks we're out on the stand, this is intentional. People usually relate and understand their own.

So young black male with a usually negative image, 5 white women living in the burbs who watch Fox News all day.

You can basically guess the result, this is about power, something blacks desperately need to address.

I mean, I'll agree with this statement. I don't believe it's a race issue that swayed the jury, and never said so. I think you were extracting implications from my post that weren't there.

I think he should've been charged with manslaughter. I think his defense probably expected him to be convicted of this, in all honesty. For whatever reason, they decided he was innocent. I imagine they decided, given all the wishy-washy details, it was better to let a potential killer walk free (since he's not exactly serial killer type; more like overzealous guy empowered by a gun who probably panicked) than put a potentially innocent man behind bars.

My sort of main point really is to emphasize that there is a lot that we don't know and likely never will, so it's unfair for people make unfounded declarations for or against Zimmerman. Based objectively on what is known, manslaughter was what I thought was reasonable. But I wasn't on that jury, so my opinion ultimately doesn't matter, and neither does anyone else's here.

Again, I agree. I don't think it was a race issue at all. Just a guy who was being overzealous and vigilante, and ended up in an unfortunate situation. One that I think merited some kind of conviction, though not murder, and he got away with entirely (which again, might be the truth, but no one will ever know but Zimmerman himself).

EDIT: To be fair, 158 is fairly slight for someone who is 6'. I'm 6' exactly and around 170, and I'd consider myself to be pretty slim. 175-185 is the "built" range for that height.

Sorry if i responded to your post suggesting you thought it was a black/white thing. That seems to be a lot of what is being thrown around.

Like you said, we don't know all the facts, we were not in the court room, and we did not hear or see the witnesses.

Do i think Zimmerman handled the events of that evening badly? Yes. Do i think Martin handled it badly? Yes. Unless being an idiot is a crime, he shouldn't be found guilty of the murder. It took 2 to tango that night, and Martin came out on the losing end.

This had nothing to do with race.
