Asus PA248Q and Dell 2412M both use the same LM240WU8-SLA2 panel according to tft central.
Asus one has 4x USB 3.0 hubs while Dell has 4x USB 2.0
Dell has DisplayPort, DVI, D-sub,
Asus has Display port, DVI, D-sub and HDMI

this is a 6-bit panel with 93% of sRGB. PWM flicker could be an issue.

I have both and they look pretty similar. The key difference is the USB 3.0 hub and having all 4 ports on the side instead of two on the side and two on the bottom. That can be good for some and bad for others.

Asus says theirs is 6ms and Dells says theirs is 8ms but honestly depends on how they measure it both could really be the same.

Do these monitors have sound? If not then I see no reason for HDMI. DVI and hdmi are essentially the same besides the sound thing and the shape of the connectors. Also all video cards have DVI ports but not all have hdmi from all the video cards I have looked at.

HDMI is replacing DVI on all monitors, regardless of sound. It's smaller and capable of carrying data, sound. It's the new standard.
