Newegg has the MOTOROLA SB6141 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem [newegg.com] on sale for $86.99 (you must checkout to see the price).

Use coupon code WALLET to take $15 off. The only catch is that you must pay using Google Wallet which means you have to buy it through the mobile website or app.

Shipping is free (Super Eggsaver). It's ShopRunner eligible but unfortunately you can't use that from the mobile site/app.

Final price: $71.99

This is around the same price as past FP deals that required a rebate.

You can save $3 on the Advanced Stream deal using this link as of now. Shipping is $5. Not sure how long it will last.

I'm switching from AT&T DSL to TWC internet. Getting the Standard plan (15Mbps). I know this modem is compatible, but should I just get a cheaper one instead or is this one OK?

This one has a 1 year warranty from Motorola, so it is really a personal peace of mind decision. If you are not getting the higher speed plans (100+ Mbps) there is little tangible benefit to the latest model. A cheapr older generation model will work just as well for your needs.

I have TWC basic internet and got the SB6121 at first. TONS of problems setting it up and TWC could never get it to work properly with my network (even though it's on their approved list of modems). It got me so aggravated I nearly dropped TWC.

With the modem rental fee jumping from 3.99 to 5.99 I figured i'd give a better modem a shot.

I picked up a SB6141 and TWC was able to get it up and running in under 5 minutes. This is an awesome modem.

Thanks for the reply guys. I was thinking about getting the SB5101U to save some money. At only 15Mbps, I don't think I need anything top of the line. Hopefully I don't get any problems.

I would have went with the cheapest router available that's on the approved list but after my fiasco with the 6121 I was very fed up... I think it's a conspiracy on TWC and Motorola's part to get me to buy the more expensive modem... I found it very fortunate the more expensive modem worked in minutes while the cheaper modem didn't work at all lol.
