Thread Details

More changes and opportunities to leave Sprint. Found these on my bill today.

Effective 9/1/13, the Administrative Charge will increase to $1.99 per line per month for customers subject to the charge. For Details on surcharges, visit sprint.com/taxesandfees [sprint.com]and review your wireless service agreement.

The current charge is $1.50.

Effective 10/1/13, GPS Services, Sprint Navigation and Telenav GPS Navigaor, will be removed from bundled data and data add-on plans. For info on GPS Navigation alternatives (varies by device, visit http://www.sprint.com/navsupport.

They do list specific phones, and my mom still has a Palm Pre, which is on the list. If you have an older phone with is on the list, I supposed you could switch to it to help escape. .

I called tonight, Aug 26th, and citing the removal of GPS services, they are letting me out of the contract without ETF. Note, I did have a Palm Pre active on my plan, but as an additional precaution, I put a bunch of old phones on my account, two protect the ESN of my Iphones.

Early Termination Fees appeared on account but after calling having them pull up previous conversation, they are removing them.

As of 9/11/2013 the ETF have been credited. Na Na, na na na na, hey hey hey, good bye!!!

This is what Sprint told me on the chat session:

Natalie F: I have checked the details and the charges are not going to be applied for the Navigation services in all cases, it will be charged only incase(sic) of the voice guided navigation if you opt for that. Also, this is not a case where in the ETF waiver is applied. However, if you still wish to discuss it in further, the appropriate team is our account services team, you can speak with them at 888-211-4727 toll free number.

Going to be calling that number. Grrrrrr.

Now they are accusing me of swapping my iPhone for the Palm Pre and then calling to cancel the line. I told them I didn't like the accusation and they are transferring me to a supervisor.

Just spent 20 minutes on the phone with "Bill" the supervisor. He threw around so many ideas I couldn't keep track of them. He said the company policy is that the phone has to be active for 90 days before you can claim any material change on the line. He says the ETF stays with the phone that was activated when the 2-year contract took place. I asked him to show that to me in writing in the T&C, which he couldn't but he claimed it was a company "policy" according to line below which is in the T&C. He kept talking about the legal dept and policies so I asked him if it came from the legal dept, you must have it in writing. He couldn't prove it. I keep pressing, but he wasn't going anywhere. Their main focus was I had the phone on the account for 3 days and have to standing.

"Services are subject to our business policies, practices, and procedures ("Policies"). You agree to adhere to all of our Policies when you use our Services. Our Policies are subject to change at anytime with or without notice"

Did I just get punked by the Friday night shift at Sprint?
My phone has been on my acct since day 1 of the new contract. I'm gonna see if some idiot is going to try to pull this one off.

I received a similar response after being escalated 3 levels up they stated how removal of the telenav app is a non materialistic change seeing as they are not actually removing the GPS service but one of the free applications, furthermore how this application was not included on contract.

Help me out?
It was included on the original contract.

I called Sprint and this did not work for me. They wanted me to pay cancellation fees after being a customer for 13 years. I was advised the terms and conditions of the surcharges is in the contract and the gps information is not on the contract therefore will not waive the fee. Any other suggestions or ideas????

Technically it still shows that the gps navigation was part of my contract because when I log in and see my plan details it stated right under unlimited data, "GPS Navigation". I just made of there customer care agents feel like crap because I showed her the plan details and she tried to fire back with my recent bill does not show that. I straight up told her I've been using this feature and it was included in my plan, the plan is a contract I agreed upon and whether you put the Sprint Navigation as an add on service still does not justify it. What a bunch of robots...........

OMG THEIR SERVICE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE! stupid upgrades in my area ETA that is only an ETA and we all know with all commercial building projects or company projects those estimates are FAAAAR off...

I called them and told them its garbage and i want out all EFT free from my contracts. its literally costing me business and embarrassing me when i drop a call with a client.

However they are requiring me to return the phones i have. has this ever happened to anyone?

Yes, they did this to me last year. My service is abysmal and they agreed and said that my average signal was showing as X% (can't remember). They were going to let me out without ETF, but required that I ship my phone back. The best part was that the phone I was using at the time was an Evo 3D that I had bought on eBay. They didn't seem to care that I didn't even buy the phone from them and insisted that I had to send them the phone to waive the ETF.

I should have done it because now that phone is sitting in my closet unused and I am looking at a much heftier ETF to get out of this contract for unusable service.

I didn't get any followup from my previous call on 9/27. I got notified last week that Sprint might start the collection agency process if I don't pay. I called back and said that that process should probably be put on hold since Sprint still has yet to get back to me.

They decided to just ask me for the terms that I disagree with, AGAIN. I'm tired of explaining this a million times over. Then they just say that they can make any changes to the contract that they want, and that I have to abide. They wouldn't remove the ETFs. I talked to a CSR who was just playing messenger with her supervisor. I had to go, so I didn't bother talking to the supervisor. I just told them that they're breaking contract law and that I'm going to waste more CSR time on this case.

Someone really needs to give them a big slap on the hand. Has anyone reported this to things other than BBB and FCC(FTC?)?

They also tried asking to retrieve the devices back. I said no, those aren't related to the contract - it's just about the ETF and contract at this point. and then she said "oh, you're probably using those on your new network"...................................................

Just pay the etf if you can and forget about sprint. They will never get another dime from me or anyone I know ever again. Worth of mouth advertising from a tech geek has some weight.. Smilie

I was going to attempt to do this in a couple of days but it looks like I just may be wasting my time. Anyone have reported success anytime recently?

If so could you clafiry/update us..?I (NEED) to gtfo of this agreement on my line, they pulled some bull crap on me :/ and service here in SF is just horrible, I could get things done faster on dial up!

http://support.sprint.com/support...upport#HTC

This article, has a date of November 16 as being updated--I Wonder if we can go off of that? Because if so, I can switch to an oldie HTC Pro phone, and be done with sprint, f*ck them with the biggest cactus you can find -.-
