good deal for the height, but some wise words - these 225 lbs rating ladders get very very wobbly once they are extended up that high. for anything that requires me to go up that high, i won't step onto anything rated less than 300 lbs

when you're 22 ft up in the air hovering over a concrete landing, you'll see what i mean

Your link at lowes isn't the same ladder. Your lowes link is the D1824-2EQ, when the link for HD is D1724-2EQ

This is the lowes link you or anyone else would want if you wanted to try and price match minus 10p at lowes: lowes [lowes.com]

The ladder is not eligible for free shipping, so do expect to add this to the final cost. Mine came out to be $55 for shipping. I've tried to PM this with Lowes last month and they only match the price plus shipping.

Shipping $55!

I really need something a bit taller ... circa 30' or so. My room is approximately 22feet up, so I don't think this will cut it.

Ditto on the rating. Higher the rating, the more stable it is.

Lowes has the 28' for 191. With the 10% off, it may meet your need. I'm looking to get it this month.

If your going up that high, be very very careful.... Friend of my brothers was in surgery/therapy for months, with huge medical bills all because of a fall off a ladder.

Years ago (5?) HD had all their ladders clearance (it was fall or winter) and i picked up an extension ladder for very little...

Don't be a puss. I go up there in my slippers carrying a miter saw in one hand and air compressor in the other hand. No problem. Man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
