Was looking for some other stuff at the HD website today and noticed that these bulbs are now listed as a "New Lower Price" at $4.97. That's even cheaper than the Cree bulbs. The Philips ones have almost no hum with dimmers, and the skinnier neck means they fit in more fixtures than the Cree. They're also rated at 830 lumens, which is slightly brighter than the Cree's 800.

Camel says the lowest this bulb has been in the last year is $14.97, and that's the current price on Amazon. When I went in to pick them up at my local store, I glanced at the in-store signage where those bulbs are; and it, too, said they were $4.97. The price does vary by store, so if your preferred store is more expensive, you may have to pick a store that has the cheaper price and then select inventory from another store for pickup. One zip code that has the $4.97 price is 98003.

In any case, I've now installed them in several fixtures, and they look quite nice. Good omnidirectional light and appropriate brightness for a 60W equivalent.

17 here.
Anything under 10 is amazing. Wonder if you're subsidized. It's not like it's old or anything.

Also $16.27 by me .

I did do a similar deal for the same bulbs about 6-8 months ago for about $8 each . However ,I did have to buy out-of-state to get that price . Back then you could get it delivered to you even if it was an out-of-state (subsidy) purchase ; but since then it seems that HD has caught on and no longer allows for it .

Nice led bulbs though . 2700K color is correct and they do dim very well .

Also to note these bulbs have a 6 year warranty (vs Cree's 10 year) .

It's my understanding that LED is the best for not creating heat.

This minimal heat generation aids in the following:

-smaller, more compact fixtures
-less energy consumption (generating heat costs energy money)
-longer life (heat over time kills life span of light bulbs)

Repped & TU--this is available in my area but not in Portland, OR region at this time.
