It's $150 (plus price of stamp and envelope for rebate) really. For some people when they look at $149, it is a completely different price than $150 Smilie

Looking at this for my daughter as she starts college......a little concerned about the reviews regarding a flimsy base (she's a leg-shaker like me) and the wake from sleep problems.

I'm looking at these two right now:
$150 Asus VN248H 23.8" IPS [newegg.com] (this thread)

$130 Asus VS247H-P 23.6" [newegg.com]

Also, the number of models/series that Asus has is staggering. VS vs. VN series, vs VH series, vs... etc..

Anyway, comments & thoughts would be welcome...

An upgrade to IPS is always worth 20 dollars.

I had bought VE247H few weeks back and am still not able to get good color calibration. Really disappointing. I was coming from an old ViewSonic CRT and it's colors are way better.

The preset configs my ASUS came with are really bad. I need to calibrate and get the right setting for the color/brightness/contrast but have yet to find any decent configuration.

Can't even find any Preset configs on the Web that maybe I can load to see.

Maybe I should look for an IPS.

This is 5ms ... I have read people gaming easily on 10ms!

Yeah, that was one of my concerns - but this is the cheapest IPS I've seen...and as Sophophilic mentioned...... IPS is generally a desirable upgrade from typical LCD's.....
