Deal Details

I found this outdoor shower on clearance for $49.50 browsing through some Lowe's clearance deals. It says it's normally $248.00, so seems like a good deal for those that are interested.

YMMV, but hopefully someone might be interested in one. Reviews aren't the greatest, but it's cheap.

Hhmmm, maybe that is why I haven't seen my last cat for a few weeks. I didn't think the cat would mind because the cage was large enough for the cat to turn around inside. Although my new cat doesn't like the larger cage, I can still manage to toss him (the cat) in the cage when he falls asleep. If I warmed up the water, do you think my new cat will run when I let him out of the cage?
Depends on the cats personality. Some will flat out panic and bounce around the cage which is why its not normally done. If you needed to restrain them I would use a cat harness. That way you can actually access them to clean and towel them off, instead of just spraying them.

The general approach is trim the nails, use a bathtub or container with several inches of warm water and something on the bottom the cat can hold on too, and gently wet them down with warm water from a pitcher or gentle sprayer. Shampoo, rinse, get them bundled in a towel and dry them off.

The idea is to keep them calm. They might not like it, and they might try and get out or stuggle a little, but if you keep them calm and are actually handling them they won't be as scared and probably won't panic.

More than likely you have a cold, soaked, confused, scared cat. He just woke up trapped in a box getting sprayed with cold water... So he bolts the second he sees away out and doesn't have a clue what's going on. And he's going to be miserable till he drys out, and really hate anything he associates with what just happened to him. If your handing them instead and dry them off you have a damp, warm, relatively calm cat whos probably going to just wander off to a warm spot to finish drying out. Throw in some treats at the end and they'll have a better association with it as you go on.

Thanks OP,
This is exactly what I am looking for to wash both my dogs and cat. Now I just have to rig up a cage so the cat don't run off. Doubt they would mind the cold water. Anyone have experience with this outdoor shower?
A shower nozzle on a garden hose would probably be easier to use, and a lot cheaper.

you appear to be the kind of sheeple the media targets, forgetting the whole laundry list of reasons Bush gave for going into Iraq (right or wrong who knows...but it wasn't just WMD). Wasn't there rumors of Iraq moving their wmd's (chem weapons) into neighboring countries?

and yet...

Wonder if you were one of the few who believed/worshiped Obama as he tried his best to convince Americans to topple Syria (despite 'Arab Spring' being a failure in Egypt and Libya).

Thank you sooooo much for the helpful hints. I really like this cat, and I don't want him to take off like all the others. You mentioned about trimming the cats nails. I too thought about doing just that, but I didn't want to do that every time I clean my cat. So, I just de-clawed this cat, saves time and energy.
I really like your idea of giving the cat/kitten a treat after the cleaning. Should I give the treat to the cat/kitten while it is still in the cage? Or should I release the cat and feed it then? Also, any suggestions on what treats to feed the cat? Maybe I should put my dog in the cage with the cat to help calm the cat down?

Read my Sig and think again.

The Iraq war was a joke, point blank. Plus, Saddam was not friends with his neighboring countries, dont try to justify your daddy's illegal war.
