You know, of all the super cheapie Walmart tents, this one - design wise - looks like it could be halfway decent.
It's nearly full coverage rainfly is marred only by that gaping non-vestibuled opening for the door, so I consider this a vast improvement over the laughable "top hat" 1/4 coverage rain flies that you usually see in this price range.
There is that bullshit ePort extension cord pass through, which is utterly out of place in a 2 person backpacking tent, but hopefully that doesn't compromise its weather resistance too much.
I'd say that for the curious backcountry newbie that simply can't be convinced to invest in a legitimate backpacking tent from The North Face, Sierra Designs, REI or Marmot (granted, there are others), then this ultra budget tent at least has possibilities.
I for one am glad they put the ePort on this backpacking tent. I can't count the number of times I've needed to plug my ipad into the nearest outlet in the wilderness only to be foiled by a lack of an extension cord port .
Does the fly really not cover the door? If so that's a bit of a deal breaker, any wind along with your rain and you'll get soaked. If it does though, not at all a bad tent. Good budget moto tent possibly.
